Well I sure that in some countries including ours getting hit by a good looking truck is matter of great pride.

You going to get hit by a truck in the future, its a possibility, might as well be an ugly looking one so that at least I feel bad for the guy driving it and bad for my self as well.

Sorry

But guys were is the service centres for these trucks and how are they going to support after sales.
Even Tata and AL are very much suffering still in some part of the country and with this minuscule number of service centres M&M is claiming a monthly sales of 3000 numbers

Monthly sales of 3000?

Remembers me of an interview just before Scorpio was launched. Mr. Anand got all excited and claimed that Scorpio will be the best finished vehicle under Merc. E-Class! Case of full josh?

I read somewhere that they were looking to expand the dealer base for this launch to around 500 with obvious A.S.S at these places and also the engine was simple enough to be mended anywhere.

I also suspect as a part of the deal, fleet owner's staff gets trained for free by the companies. Can anyone comment on that. Do companies train the drivers and mechanics?

No where and nothing doing.
For Indian Commercial Vehicle Market you should have more trained local mechanics and not just A.S.S. They will help only free service and they are never again looked back.
ALL has the policy of training Mechanics.

Re: Mahindra Navistar World Class Trucks launched

Anyone driven one of these yet? I have been drooling over them for a long time, when Mahindra first told me about them. Wonder if they would ever launch designs like the Peter Bilts.

Finally saw one of these on road... it looked like a local built truck from a distance. The truck was a TN registered Milk Tanker!

Re: Mahindra Navistar World Class Trucks launched

Finally, a Mahindra Navistar on the road.

If there was a little less stickering and a brighter colour this truck would be much better to look at.

I think this is now the most powerful 25tonne rigid in the country with 210hp, also the largest capacity standard engine at 7.2litres.

The 7.2litre engine is a nice move allowing for a pretty wide range of power from around 200hp to may be close to 320 or even higher from the same block.

Re: Mahindra Navistar World Class Trucks launched

There seems nothing unbalanced about the truck to me.

Also, the load body building in our country needs to catch up to the modern trucks that are in the market today. What exactly is this body for, a 20-foot container??

I had seen these trucks twice on roads and can say they had immense road presence.

I overtook one of these yesterday between Perundurai and Salem. It was crawling on the right-lane. From the rear it looked like a Leyland truck - it was a milk tanker.
