There is sticky-stuff remover, I don't know if that is the same as the 3M product. It is charchterised by an odd, sweet smell, and comes with warnings to use in well-ventilated space.

I do not know if rubber is ok with it: I've used it to remove labels, etc, from most household stuff. I'd definitely keep it away from paintwork!

There is also scraping. Use a razor blade or similar, at a shallow angle so that it cannot did into the glass, and work at it until it is gone. A long job, I guess! Not to be used on glass with heating elements, of course!

Take it to a garage where denting-painting is done. I had the same issue on my recently purchased car, and got the residue removed by a local garage- all for Rs. 200!
