Im a fan of a nice smooth rear end ;) so its only natural that I wanted to get rid of all the extra chrome on my suzie's hatch.

Materials Needed :

1. Fishing line / Strong Nylon thread (I used twine
2. Hair dryer
3. Cotton/Rag (Diesel optional)

D.I.Y :

1. Use the hair dryer to heat the section with the decal. Make sure you don't overheat it or your paint will fade/crack.
2. Once sufficiently heated use the thread, put it behind the badge and start to slice one section off at a time. Slow and steady!
3. There might be some residue/gum left on the hatch, this is where the rag/diesel comes in.

Tips :

1. Choose a bright and sunny day the metal will already be hot!
2. Dont force it off. Just work it lose slowly, you will be surprised how little effort is actually required
3. If your car is over 6 months old I suggest you plan the debadging close to sometime when your treating her to a polish job. This will give it a uniform sheen.

Yep, that would be ideal. Alternatively thats why I suggested a good polish job for older vehicles.

Looking good souljah! I've read about debadging and delocking in some british auto mags.

Just my personal opinion, the backside of the car is looking incomplete/empty without the badges.
But the back-lights are looking good though.

Fantastic, those who know will know this is a Swift VDi. Those who don't, we need not care for them to know. Debadging is so apt.

Even better... Give 10 bucks to the local Sticker waala and he will take the badging out for you... :D

Retained the "S" as its integral to the character and also so she could have a bit of jewelery on her :)

For those who dont want to DIY, why bother paying the stickerwallah?
The authorized service station would do it for free :p

Fantastic Souljah, your car just needs a spoiler at the rear to complete the looks.

Also get a nice muffler(chrome)

And yeah i would like to ask the same question as cRaZy? You retained the DDIS badge. Be careful when you give for service, you never know MSIL guys might service it thinking its a petrol :p

Im sure you may have to be a bit careful when going for refuelling. Initially at least. Then the attendants get used to your car..stupid:
