Here is my small contribution to this thread

Took this photo early November when I was in Kokan.

@rehaan - thanks a lot mate .. i was tempted too but sadly, did not have any image -editing software installed..

@rudra sir -- thats not a common periah kite that we get to see i guess

@adya33 -- nice one !

@hkanitkar- same common kite what we see.

@adya33- great shot. I really like this one.

@Samurai- yes, AI servo is same as continous AF.

Rudra, how did you get that view [the first of the two beach shots in Karwar]? The island is right at the top of the frame. Were you standing at a height when you shot that?

Adya, very intresting shot: have you captured that in other angles too ?

That's a great composition Adya33, if that was shot in raw, Rudra could have spun his magic on it. But avoid centering your objects in future, it is better if they are off-center.

Rudra, I told you the bottom half was too dark, he too can't make out you were right on the beach.

Yes its is too dark... But, between 2 LCDs, i tried, it was visible in one and not in another. Increasing the brightness or contrast didnt help. Guess this is more to do with the capability of the monitors. If possible will check with some CRTs...

@ samurai,Condor and gkrishn, bottom half is dark indeed. It was shot around 6.45 in the evening. BUT, I can still see details on my monitor.

Condor, it was shot with 20mm wide. Keeping that island on top and just about avoiding my feet in frame. I was standing on the beach and not on any higher plane.

Well I am no professional but this is my contribution. This photo is a beach in Pondicherrry taken by my run of the mill digital camera at about 7:30 in the evening.

can you guess where this place is?

Here are a few pictures taken by my brother while he was down here. All taken by a point-&-shoot Canon IS800 (I think!)

Mods please feel free to remove any pictures you think are not good enough.

Took this one from my 3.2 mp at alibaug....

danlalan, really nice one. Cut the sky as much as you can. It's not adding much to the picture.

Here are some of my photos from the trip to Leh Ladakh last year, particularly from Pangong Tso lake region.

On way to Pangong Tso
