Thanks man. The EXIF data is available on this link Flickr: More detail about She. Actually I wanted to get minimum noise so had no choice but to shoot at long exposure. I just sat on the ground and took this shot supporting my hands on my knees.

Anirban.

Handheld for 25 seconds:Shockked: and no hint of camera shake..I think you are a rock steady neurosurgeon! Amazing job.

This is a hand held 25 seconds exposure. Got it after several tries.
This is an untouched photograph other than a crop.

Either you have a capability to freeze yourself like a statue when needed or you're lying :D

Why 25 seconds? I'd have used a higher ISO and lower exposure time.

Good shot. I can never get a steady long exposure shot with camera hand held, be it with the support of knees, bending over a wall or whatever.

Thanks to you too dude.

Well to be frank there's a tiny bit of camera shake over there. If you check the photograph in its full size. And why I went for 25 seconds as I already mentioned I didn't want any noise. That's a big no no for me. Hence the longer exposure.

If I did want to lie I'd be claiming something bigger like taking that shot flying rather than sitting down lol:.

Regards,

Anirban.

Hand Held at 25 secs:eek:. That's the first i am hearing. I have tried upto 10 secs and i found my unsteady hands cannot tolerate beyond 5secs.

Great job !

Anirban, were you in the infantry where they train soldiers to stand immobile for hours with the rifle? :)

This one is a 10-sec exposure shot

Aye aye captain. The sniper division that is:D. The thing is though this is a automobile forum...it's not my forte. It's just due to the pure love of driving I'm in here...otherwise I don't understand head or tail about them much. But, Photography is the reason I got into automobiles, i.e. the Gypsy which inturn led me to Rally and hence I'm here with you guys. Pretty weird way to end up in an automobile forum isn't it?

Anyway I'm here to learn things from everyone who is better than me and also from those who are not so fortunate. Photography is a never ending learning curve and I'm still on it.

Regards,

Anirban.

I was joking on the 'lying' part, please don't take it seriously! :) And yes, you can have a little bit of noise in the picture, which can be fully eliminated by using some noise reduction software like Noiseware.

I hooked up a convex lens in front of the normal kit lens to take some macros. The lens I used is the front glass element of my beercan lens, it has a focal length of about 150mm. The kit lens @70mm with this in front provides decent macro magnification (1:1 almost) and the picture doesn't have too shallow DOF like the reverse lens setup, nor does it have much CA. Here are some un-cropped samples taken in low light, ISO 200.

Had a funny incident today, thought I should share with you guys.

Today I went to a Sony World looking for an mini HDMI-HDMI cable and I had my camera(500D) with me. I met a guy at who had just bought a Sony W320 and was looking for a camera pouch.
Now, seeing my camera he tried to strike a conversation which went somewhat like this:
Guy: How many Megapixels does your camera have?
Me: 15MP
Guy: Mine has 14.1 megapixels
Me: Thats nice
Guy: How much zoom do you have?
Me: Well..it depends on which lens I'm using
Guy: Still..what is your maximum optical zoom?
Me: hmm..i would say around 4.5x for my 55-250mm lens
Guy: I've got 4x optical zoom and 8X digital zoom
Me: Thats a nice range
Guy: How much did you buy it for? (he was going in for the kill)
Me: Around 45 grand
Guy(with a sparkle in his eyes and looking at his wife to show that he had a much better deal): I got mine for 10.5 grand with a free 2GB memory card.Whats the point of spending so much money for the same features?
Me: Well..pointless it seems (I didn't have the time nor patience to argue..hence walked away)

This guy looks like he is too Inspired by sun direct add lol:.

BTW nice Pic.
