Thanks guys !

On Christmas day of 2009, I tried sending my papa-in-law and mama-in-law to the sky, but they came back to earth after 10 minutes

I find this framing proper for this thread, because the team-bhp logo comes perfect on the black area.

Btw, your shot is through a UWA ? Please give some tips, its superb.
Haha, i read the full post. I shot that with the 14-24mm f 2.8 lens. I really do not know what tips is it that you want! As far as wide angle shooting is concerned, All I can tell you is, choose what you distort and what you dont want to distort!

Totally , sorry. but couldn't resist.

Shaju, with due respect to your in-laws, it surely must've been a great disappointment...

Hope your better half doesn't read TBHP posts.

Ultra wide

I always used to wonder why do photographers say ultra wide is difficult to use. This ladakh trip I discovered why.
I had such a tough time, that for many pics I just picked up the panasonic FZ-35!

anyways, I learnt some. UWA is good if you can get a pattern in the foreground
Sand here

The river makes this shot somewhat interesting, though I would not rate it as very good

Another trick I discovered, crop the image to make it extra wide

Or simply use the foreground

For some pics, I just zoomed in, this was taken at 17mm i.e. 27.2mm in FF speak

@PhrozenFire: Really like the second shot. Kind of mystic and serene.

Thanks TSEA. Sharp shot there of the spider. The rear end looks like a grinning cat to me!
