You can imagine the kind of intense tungsten lighting the video guys have.. compared to that, rest of the auditorium and stage was darker - metered for the brighter areas and so rest of the frame became dark.

Some people prefer to do everything in the OLD way....inspite of having every facility in the house (its a balcony to balcony view)

I think someone said sometime ago: 'every photographer has a paparazzi gene sleeping within himself' !! I dare only the harmless ones though To Clever: I make my best to have an eye-contact and convey the message to the subject that I am going to shoot him, so its nothing like hide and shoot.

@task1979: Beautiful! @shaju: Having a telephoto lens = neighbors' privacy at stake?

@shaju, I used my Nikkor 70-300mm VR. It is actually a crop from 300mm shot.

SJ, I agree 70-300 is a great lens really worth its cost, specially for wildlife. I have got plenty of sharp shots through that. Posting one from the same lens taken few months back.

Btw, beautiful candid shot.

The pictures looks awesome as usual. Nice colors and details too. Btw, those reflections need a special mention.

A panning shot from my side. Criticism welcome.

LOL, I am known to my neighbors as a crazy camera guy, they see me carrying a heavy bag with an attached huge tripod on weekends and other times carrying a heavy tele in the balcony spotting birds around. So, I doubt if anyone would ask anything to me other than a copy of their 'candid' portrait . And by the way, do you think a bulging out balcony from the building is expected to be a place for privacy in a 7 storied building ? Issues come up when you shoot a woman and you are noticed by her husband, I dont have time for all that stuff.

Coming to business, whats all that noise in your shot ? Remembering your dragon-fly shots, we expect much higher quality images from you, seriously. Just wishing if the subject was more sharper, clearer (less noise) and positioned to the left. I dont usually comment, because you know I am in the infancy stages of learning this art, but criticisms are purely on an unbiased viewer point.

I was just kidding brother. Don't take it seriously.

Basically,I wanted to share this picture here because it's my first experiment in panning shot. It was shot somewhere between 6 - 6:30 PM. So, I had to use higher ISO. And, I guess that explains the noise.I do admit that the framing is bad here.

Yes,I couldn't resist myself from posting that pic here.

PS: I'm so happy to receive such a detailed unbiased critic. Thanks a ton brother. Love you

Here is a flower for you brother. (From my archives)
