@Samurai , Sorry had missed to reply.

I guess the basic firework shooting techniques still hold good. The advantage is you can easily predict the location, set the tripod and focus on the spot, with full manual mode. One issue being you will always have a very bright spot in the centre of your picture/flower pot or chakkar. Also you can also time it accordingly, since you are lighting up.

I have missed quite a few Diwali's and being in singapore did not get a chance to try.

The pic of the chakkar is good, try to follow "Rule of the thirds" and align the chakkar towards the left line of the rule of thirds. Sorry, Just edited you pic to represent what I was mentioning.

Yeah, that's what I finally found out after all the trial and error. Anyway, this all happened 5 years back.

During the heavy rains, the the elusive sun can give out different special effects. Please see it in full size.

Today morning, I saw this from my home window.

Within seconds, it changed entirely. Look again, it is the same frame, but the effect is very different.

No , Normally I don't that day DSLR was in my Safari and it was parked in front parking and when I came out rainbow was there so all positive odds and luck was on my side only unlucky portion was that Sigma 10-20 was not with me.

BTW first time in my life I saw a complete rainbow horizon to horizon.
Here is another shot I came out of campus to the lake but by now it was partial.

Very nice! I like this kind of photo which captures clouds on top of mountains. I recently captured the one below. The feel of your photo is much better though.

Thanks Pulsar, it is always good to have the camera all the time with you. I was going to friend's house, it was rainy and took this shot from the train.

Thats very good lighting and detail Shaju. I have an issue with my camera, whenever there is a difference in lighting, it is always too much overexposed and underexposed, I hope my future 5D MK II will not have this issue.

Amit - Your pic has the special effect which Samurai sir mentioned above. The buildings are glowing with that special light. Heres my first attempt with the complete rainbow. I captured this last year. Prefer the overall look of your pic though.

A casual shot after a hike we did. Ignore the composition, was too tired to even hold the camera and compose my shot.
