Hellwrath, lovely photographs there. I specially loved the 2nd one, a minmalistic composition with lovely dominant colors.
@Ampere, nice composition man, but you may correct that slight horizon tilt :) Wish there was a more dramatic sky.
@TG, nice shot as always.

Here are couple of shots from my side, from my recent Ladakh trip,

Just about to enter Hunder, at Nubra Valley,

PS: Guys, do let me know one thing, about the colors, are they looking fine? I'm using a new monitor (calibrated manually only), so want to make it sure everything is fine.

Kaushik,

Thanks for the feedback. Now that you mentioned, even I noticed.
Here is a fixed version. Yes the sky was not dramatic. In fact we were in luck that it was not raining!

PS: I have seen so many good captures here, that I have run out of adjectives and stopped posting! Amazing snaps.
Colours to me look amazing. When you export out you can also use the sRGB profile rather than the your calibrated profile of your monitor.
LR and Aperture support such profiles based export.

This was taken on the way to Nubra Valley.. one of the most scenic roads of India IMHO.

Looks like the perfect place to try early morning or late evening.

Beautiful shots - kaushik_s & Dip27in.

This one shot near Narara Marine national park.

I would suggest early morning. For evening, when light fades, its a bit difficult.
Also the place is solar power fenced, as wild elephants come over to the lake (though from a different side) for water.
The place is a part of Mahadeshwara State park which is an extension on Bannergatta National Park.

Many blogs talk about climbing up a hillock to get a full view. I could not spot it. Also I could get a full cover/panorama of the lake.
All we could shoot was only bits and pieces of the lake which we could access.

But its worth visiting that place, when its green. All at a distance of 60km from Bangalore!

@dip27in, Amazing snap. I felt saturation is a tad on the higher side. Deliberately performed to get the effect?

I take back my opinion, made it without realizing the location !! I am happy shooting faces and less harmful landscapes than getting digested in a tiger or thrown into the lake by an elephant and hunted by a croc :)

Surely its not that dangerous! Initially I was in two minds before taking my kid but then I did take my kid.
There is a temple where you need to drive to which is cleanly fenced. The access we got was only from the temple side
and not from any other location, which are more elephant prone.

Surely no crocs! Well I hope so :)

There was recent BHP meet here as well.
But the place transforms with rains.

^TG: Unique lines. Very nice

Went to Neyyar Dam today expecting sunny weather but it was an overcast weather that greeted us. Rain spoiled the trip.

Guess over done! Alleppey/Alapuzha beach Oct 2011

This page has some amazing shots. Excellent work guys.

One of the first shots with my new baby - Pentax DA* 300mm. This one from fairly close focusing range. This lens has a minimum focusing distance of around 4.5ft.
