@tsk
Great shots there. When 450mm is not sufficient, use your legs and a lot of patience stupid:

Man, truly amazing pictures, all of the them but specifically the first and fourth flower ones. I am not able to stop myself from asking.

Did they come naturally like that, or there is some Photoshop magic on them, the lighting effect looks truly amazing?

Shots with Nikon V1 + Nikon 70-200 f 2,8 VR I lens.

Thanks Mayank.

The flower pictures - that was sunset time. The 1st picture - sunlight was falling on the subject, while the surroundings of the subject were in shadow beneath a Willow tree. The contrast and the translucent coloured leaves - with sunlight filtering through - looked good, so I shot at -1 exposure bias and then increased shadow a bit.

The 2nd picture - a closeup of flowers from a tree/shrub. The flowers were falling from the shrub and were floating in the lawn, and attracted me to the source (parent shrub). The 'spikes' were interesting, so I zoomed using my 70-300 lens and then cropped the final picture. This is what the shrub looks like - a wider angle shot, no cropping.

I tried out the recently purchased (for my wife) Canon IXUS 230HS on this trip. Good for such a tiny P&S camera. The flower pictures were taken with the D90/70-300 combo.

Nice photo. Where was this taken?

Edit: Periyar I guess. Can you share the month and time of day? Lots of herbivores visible in the background...

Two pictures from Beypore, Calicut taken during my recent visit. Taken with my Galaxy S2. Too lazy to do any post processing :)
