Cool shots!
I spotted a woodpecker so close to my window, and it was gone by the time I grabbed my camera :( Then shot this to console myself ;)

"Colours" of water

Question to folks from Bangalore. Whats the best time to visit the
Big Banyan Tree? I could not sit at home today after lunch. So grabbed my pocket camera and rode on my trusty old Pulsar to Big Banyan tree. Visited the place after many years. Pleasantly surprised to find that they have roads till the place. But the place was extremely crowded. The place served as a picnic spot to all nearby villagers. I could see people everywhere. Everytime I tried to compose an image in my mind, I came across a group of people sitting under the shade of the tree either chatting or having lunch or love birds etc. And the place appears to be badly littered.
So coming to my question:
--What is the best time to visit the Big banyan tree, so that I'm able to take pictures without much people around?
All I could get was this pic:

This butterfly decided to get itself killed in this creative way!

Found this while going through my RAW files..

One from the terrace
And one of my papa dearest

Had been mulling whether to buy a DSLR or Bridge. Finally bought a Bridge: Nikon Coolpix P510, yesterday and put it's incredible 42x optical zoom to good use. Here are some pics. Also included are some hand held night pics on Elliot's Beach.

Guys tomorrow is full moon. How about giving your best shot at the full moon and posting pics of the same. Meanwhile, kindly guide me as to how to get the best moon shot with my Nikon Coolpix P510.

Here it is :
Aperture : f/3.5
Shutter : 1/2 second
ISO : 1600
Focal : 18mm
EV : 0
Exposure & Focus were both manual.
Given that this is a 1/2 second exposure, i doubt its one of the shots i took in Bulb mode (i took several, this was the best). I think this is in manual mode, triggered by "exposure change" -- an option that the 3rd party firmware MagicLantern provides.

Slowly sinking into the Ladakh mood for this year after giving it a miss last year. Processed a few B/W images from the archive, here's one of them.
Have some more pictures on my FB page (
http://www.facebook.com/WildZests) if anyone wishes to see some more of Ladakh :D
Any guesses as to what this is? :D
