Nice! How did i you get so close? Did you use the DCR or was it cropped?

Sorry I forgot to mention that DCR250 was used.. It is the actual frame but it lost few pixels on all sides due to focus stacking.

This pic of lord shiva was clicked by me at Kachnar city,Jabalpur.
Camera used - 5 Mega pixel camera (Sony xperia mini pro)
Was quite amazed with the huge statue(76 feet high) and the divine expression.

Excellent focus clevermax.

I have tried my best handheld shots with the new Raynox DCR 150.
Canon 1100D + 55-250mm + DCR 150
With increasing zoom it is very difficult to maintain the focus, tripod is a must.

Question: you guys use a mini tripod for table top shots or the regular one? I'm patiently waiting for my DCR to arrive for some real close up shots

@gopinathan: same pinch on the HD2

I have a mini tripod, next I am planning to use the laptop and tripod to take macro shots, so that all the focus and trigger is done from the computer and that should be precise.

Does your HD2 still runs on windows?, mine is running on Android.

You get the RC1 IR remote for Canon; not sure if it's compatible with the 1100 though. Of course, you can control it with the software provided with the camera

OT: HD2 is running Android v2.3.5

Thanks.. and yes, you are right on the focus difficulty with zoom - actually the DOF gets narrower and narrower.

I use a tripod.. The problem with a tripod is that when its legs are spread out, you can't reach out with your camera much into the table. So the subject should be placed on the edge A mini tripod will solve this problem..

Here's how I shot few of those pictures. Didn't use the view finder at all, and composed the shots using the LCD panel.

The blue tinge is visible around the head of the bird. The UV filter cannot take that away, I had thought that it will.

70% cropped, loss of quality obvious.

That's some bad purple fringing! A good UV filter should improve the image but I am not sure it can completely eliminate it at all. There's an easy way - reduce the exposure so that you do not blow the sky or a white background. Compensate the darker parts later in PP.
