@Pramod: So you installed a new muffler in the car, bought a new DLSR, Had a road trip to a good location! perfect

The shot looks a bit posterized. It's the PP I guess.

LOL Yes i did all this. And you were there as a great help and support.

BTW i tried converting raw into jpg using picasa and it kind of auto corrects it, which is bad. I used PS to reduce the file size and it became like this .

I assume you have CS4, you can directly open the .ARW file in it and process. It will be much better. I don't use Picasa or Sony Image Data converter nowadays.

I am back with a guest post (haven't been regular here in terms of posting) but the quality of images is going up in this thread. Keep it up guys and have been suggesting this site to learn photography over other photo forums . Here is a photograph that I made on saturday at Lalbagh (ye ye, I am there almost every other weekend ). The title for this photograph is "When Nature Paints, there's no match". Please view it large.

A Day at the Polo Ground!!

Yesterday I went to the Polo ground for the sole purpose of taking some pics. Initially I had thought that panning would be a good idea to capture some good shots. But I guess I failed pretty bad at my try at panning

Here is an example pic at panning. The pics came out blurred!!!
ISO : 200
shutter speed : 1/20
aperture : f/25

Can any one suggest me if panning is possible in such a scenaio, when the horse movement is forward and also up and down?

Then I tried a few pics with a faster shutter speed and here are the results:-

ISO:400
shutter speed: 1/640
aperture : f/6.3

Since the polo season is on these days and I would get more opportunities to take some pics, I would like suggestions from you guys, to improve the pic quality.

Also If some would like to have the originals to PP them and post them I will be happy to mail them

Thanks and regards

At 1/20 it's fine. Not really blurred if you see. It also captures the mood. Try to frame it right next time. Slow shutter blur often adds a lot to create mood.
