Reposting the same picture after the suggested crop. Does it look better now?

Had a funny incident today, thought I should share with you guys.

Today I went to a Sony World looking for an mini HDMI-HDMI cable and I had my camera(500D) with me. I met a guy at who had just bought a Sony W320 and was looking for a camera pouch.
Now, seeing my camera he tried to strike a conversation which went somewhat like this:
Guy: How many Megapixels does your camera have?
Me: 15MP
Guy: Mine has 14.1 megapixels
Me: Thats nice
Guy: How much zoom do you have?
Me: Well..it depends on which lens I'm using
Guy: Still..what is your maximum optical zoom?
Me: hmm..i would say around 4.5x for my 55-250mm lens
Guy: I've got 4x optical zoom and 8X digital zoom
Me: Thats a nice range
Guy: How much did you buy it for? (he was going in for the kill)
Me: Around 45 grand
Guy(with a sparkle in his eyes and looking at his wife to show that he had a much better deal): I got mine for 10.5 grand with a free 2GB memory card.Whats the point of spending so much money for the same features?
Me: Well..pointless it seems (I didn't have the time nor patience to argue..hence walked away)

Trying out some macro with a wide-angle lens!

Haha..this MP race (esp in compacts) is fueled by the consumer and I don't see an end to this.

Yes Rudra da, its a tad warm..thought it would work with the theme. Would have been better with a macro lens but i was trying out a friend's 10-20mm. I couldn't compose a decent wide angle shot at my place with the lens so ended up with this macro.

Excellent shot there Rudra.

Just too perfect to be a co-incidence. I was trying something similar today and couldn't get the perfect shot. Made a box, stuck paper on the inside placed a mirror at the base and somehow couldn't get it right. The length of the bottle in the mirror was never proportionate. Finally gave and decided to try it some other time.

My question, how did you manage to get the reflection perfect ?

One from my side, shot during my last road trip.

5mm thick plate glass with mat black painted on one side to avoid double reflection. Light came from a 500 watt/second flash head through white acrylic. Behind edge line removed in Photoshop.

ROFL ROFL, reminds me of a similar incident told by one wildlife photographer when one person asked him on a WLS trip about how many megapixels his pro camera have and then that guy boasted that his digicam has more mp's than this photographer's camera.

She.

The Official non-auto Image thread-4272082921_6b8d2f294d_b.jpg

On our honeymoon at Havelock Island. The very first night, by the sea shore we relaxed under the coconut palms...The place was just magical...as if time had stopped to take a break and let nature seep into our souls.

So, While we were just loafing around the beach after our dinner I made my wife sit on one of the benches and took this shot. This is a hand held 25 seconds exposure. Got it after several tries.

This is an untouched photograph other than a crop.

Thanks man. The EXIF data is available on this link Flickr: More detail about She. Actually I wanted to get minimum noise so had no choice but to shoot at long exposure. I just sat on the ground and took this shot supporting my hands on my knees.

Regards,

Anirban.
