Actually this pretender is rated above the "L" that is in question here.

This is from Amazon.com user review:

This was the second lens I got for my E-500. The combination is superb. The lens is fast focusing and razor sharp wide open. I had the 40-150 to compare, as well as canons 70-200 f4L on a rebel xt. This lens is sharper, has better contrast and is faster, worth every cent.

Ok, this was shot handheld at ISO 100 using 50-200mm.

BTW, this is the not the original frame. It was cropped from the below shot. Notice how much detail is intact.

Hey Samurai,

Nice pic there of the lapwing, although i feel that it has been slightly oversharpened. You use the Olympus SLR with a 2.0 crop factor, right?

Anyways to give company to your leopard and to tell Samu San that you can get good pics with a 75-300 cheapo zoom lens here I go
About 50% or so crop

No crop

A tiger cropped(100%)

A non cropped owl

And a final one with kit lens, proving you don't need expensive lenses but good roads for good photography
