Lol

Not that active on flickr. To be honest, i don`t put too many images online, unless they are in specific closed forums

Too busy in work and life, too little time to shoot.

RAW :

Was finally able to convert raw to tiff and open it in PS.

Oh boy, i've never seen such depth in any of the jpeg images. The light is spread evenly throughout the image with no high contrast areas.

I dont think i can go back to jpeg after seeing this. Time to get a new hard drive. LOL

In Grey, No Manufacturer warranty, but 6 month replacement gurantee for any problem, by the guy at Pritam Studio.

Very good buy, its an excellent cam, very near to entry level DSLR. Try learning Manual mode, its just too amazing. I have kept mine as the second cam. I do not want to miss the zoom level it gives

Nice deal you got there! Now, I am tempted to jump into the DSLR bandwagon now. Need to check out the prices in bangalore.

Questions

Congrats rkbharat.

Now that me too about to jump into the pit, need guidance from gurus here.

[Longish...pls bear]

Have pretty much decided on the Canon system.
First I selected a lens, but got stuck here only, since the lens I think I want (may not need), takes up my entire budget.

ok, the selected lens: EF-S 15-85mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM.
Problem: costs USD 800 (canon site), & Blore ~ Rs.40k.
And the budget for which I have approval is 40K.
(almost fixed. Any more and "but dear, at around 50K we can get the new side-by-side refrigerator ...... with much more utility"...So, increasing budget may actually make it vanish)

Next, lens choice: EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS.
Costs: USD 500 (canon site) & Blore ~ 17K.

PS: Don’t know how USD800 become Rs. 40K & USD500 become 17K. Blore prices are via phone enquiry to Blore shop.

Now, 2 questions:
1. Is this a good idea - new USM lens above + used body (400D or 450D)?
If I wait until Dec. offers (in US) might get within USD700 (32K). Rest for a used body. Get a friend to carry for me.

2. How much worse is the 2nd lens compared to the first above?
If not too much, then 2nd Lens + 500D would be my choice.

Guidance, opinion, corrections please.

cheers

What??? upgrade!!!

Is your lens back in working condition? Last i remember is that its beyond repair!! In that case I would suggest 18-55 VR lens.
