All 3 are out of focus. Please convert the image to jpg(you can do that in DPP that comes with camera) for posting.

Also post the pics in the below thread...

How can I Know whether a lens is weather sealed or not? Is weather sealing, a property of the body or the lens?

Can someone please list the difference between the cameras clearly and also tell me if the d90 is worth the 20k extra you pay over the 5000 ?
please help.

Apart from what Mohit said, D90 has many more features/advantages

1. LCD in D90 is 3.0", 920K dots, where as in D5000 is 2.7", 230K dots. D5000 LCD offers vari angle which allows some creative angles while shooting

2. Genrally Kit lens bundled with D90 is 18-105VR where as with D5000 kit lens is 18-55VR

3. Top LCD panel offers quick view in D90, where it is not there in D5000

4. Shooting speed in D90 is 4.5 fps where as in D5000 it is 4.0 fps. 11 RAW frames in D90 Vs 7 RAW frames in D5000. D90 appears to be more suitable for action photography than D5000.

5. View finder magnification in D90 is 94%, D5000 it is 78%.

6. Shots per battery is 850 in D90 and 510 in D5000, D90 also comes with dedicated battery grip accessory.

7. D90 has multiple exposure modes which is not availble in D5000

8. D90 also has built in commander mode for ext flash which is not available in D5000

9. D90 offers more custom functions fro creative control 41 against 23 for D5000, where as D5000 offers more retouch menu functions.

I still think that D90 price is going to further drop. I got a quote of 46K from Jayesh two days ago. I am not sure, whether he offers B&W.
the official disti of Nikon offered me 59K with B&W along with several goodies which as per experts here is of no great value.

The other day, I was playing with a colleagues D5000, the body is made of hardened plastic, where as the D90 has a nice feel to it with the rubber grip and also I was searching for the second control wheel on D5000 which it does not have where as the D90 has it. All these extra goodies make the D90 a better buy.

If 46K only for the body or with kit lens? how much will just the D90 body cost?

Thanks a lot guys for your help . This is going to be my first digital SLR and I was wondering as to all the advantages of the D90 over the D5000 is justified by the price ? Will be using all the features the d90 has over the 5000 as a first generation buyer ?

Also is the D90 price expected to fall soon ?

It is upto you to get the value out of the camera. The Guru's here have said (you may go through the posts in these thread from the begining) as below

Quote:
The camera will not enable great pictures or photographs. It is the subject in front of the camera and the person behind it make a great picture
I am also a newbie to DSLR world, yet to buy a DSLR. i am into my research, i have stated my view couple pages before in this thread regarding buying a cheap body Vs D90 as well as price rise/fall issue.
so as several others, you may read it to understand more.

@rbp : price quoted by Jayesh included kit lens 18-105. but i am not sure whether he gives B&W. as per fellow members here the D90 body only is available somewhere 36K-38K (i am not sure). You may contact member shajufx by sending a PM, he knows prices more accurately.

$ figure suggest that you are in USA so why dont you go for Pentax Kx ? It is really good in India availability is issue but moving fast in USA. Another option is to buy a refurbished 450D/500D ( T1i in US) from Adorama , They are as good as new but resold as refurbished mostly just becaue some one returned as per US wide policy of no questions asked return for first 30 days and carry 90 day cannon warrenty.

550d...

Has been holding this for few hours now. A tiny preview here...

Coming from an 8mp, this is an 18 mega-pixels of madness. I have no idea why canon put so much of data in an supposedly entry level camera. It would certainly need a pretty good lens to resolve such high density sensor. Any one who buys this many pixel should straight away dump those kits lens that comes with it.

The 3200 iso is also impressive, considering this many cramped pixels. I have no idea where other manufacturers stand, but this is a truly wonderful camera from canon.

Couple of samples with 100% crop...
At iso200, 50/1.8@2.8,1/400

Sharpness set at "0".

If a lens is weather sealed, its spec sheet will say so.
As for weather sealing, for complete weather sealing with lens and body has to be weather sealed. for example shooting in the rain.
However, even on a non weather sealed body, a weather sealed lens will have the advantage of not sucking in dust.
That said, for mild drizzle, most cameras are okay. I have shot with 350D in drizzle, and there were no issues. It was not a one of shoot. I have shot many times in drizzle with the 350D. After the shoot I just wiped the camera completely.

What I'm going to do is wait probably a month or two and see if the prices are falling down.
My dream camera is still the D90. So will probably wait for it to fall in the region of 45k.
Doubt the chances of it happening !
