A friend of mine had suggested http://www.balajimpex.com/ who are based out of Mumbai. They have Delkin products. Please have a look. They looked bit expensive to me.

Yes they are overpriced and I am not sure about Delkin when everyone uses either Visible Dust or Photographic Solution's Eclipse & Pec Pads/swabs.

Will stick to ordering via B&H. Their India liason office is walking distance from my home. :) Makes me feel much better/confident

PS - Eureka! I'll be ordering the Lenscoats and some other miscellaneous bits to even out the cost of shipping.

Speaking of dust, my Olympus E-500 is 7 years old with more than 25K clicks. I have changed lens in very dusty environments without a second thought. Not a speck anywhere till now.

Not sure about your place, but I have someone or other travelling to US on short projects almost every month. My cousine went for 6 days last month, now my neighbor is gone for 10 days. Then the huge line up of grand parents visiting their grand kids every 3 months, US is no more a long flight these days ! Friends always ask if I have anything to bring from there, but I recovered from my "gear accumulation" syndrom :)

I agree, every other brand except Nikon has dust munching capabilities :thumbs up

Is Canon's "in camera cleaning system" better?
I'm seriously looking at Canon because my Olympus sucks in low light. :(

Olympus has the best cleaning solution.
Nikon cleaning system is not the problem. The problem is oil spatter from the mirror/shutter mechanism.
That said, if you want low light, Nikon rocks in the DX world.

you can also look at the Aplha series. Very good in low light.

I read it somewhere that low light could be an issue with SLT as there is a translucent glass there reflecting about 30% of the light to the viewfinder (so there is 30% less light on the sensor). I might be wrong here though. The Sony A77 is the camera I was very much interested in one time.

Yes, i'm aware of Oly's superior cleaning system.....and i love the JPEGs i get get straight out of camera. I'd say i'm a victim of not being mainstream (Canon / Nikon). The Oly lenses are exotic but prohibitively expensive. But low light is where it dumps me.

Recently i got to use a Canon 550D with a 50mm f1.8...and how much i enjoyed. I could get nice results with minimal settings. My level is "passionate amateur"....so i don't know much either. :(

But i didn't get comparable results with a Nikon D7000 + 50mm f1.8....whereas Canon gave me more keepers. I didn't feel comfortable with that D7000.

I think Canon cleaning system is effective. I keep it in auto clean mode with every power cycle and in last 3.5 years did not requie any cleaning.

I change lenses outdoors quite frequently but at the same time have been missing summer dust storms ( Aandhi) of north India for quite some time.
So may be some Delhi based member can provide more info on usage under severe dust conditions.

I read somewhere, probably on DPreview, that FF sensors are prone to attracting more dust than smaller crop sensors as they generate a stronger static charge due to the larger surface area. I am not sure if this is a scientifically proven fact or just one of those assumptions you read on the 'net.

Is that true?

As Tanveer already said, Nikon DX bodies are doing a wonderful job. I had lots of keepers in very high ISO (read 6400+) on my D90 & D7000. No clue about the canon counter parts as I never owned one.

We have tbhpians who are very happy with A77 overall performance. One of them uses it for commercial works too as the main body.

The SLT mirror does rob some light but its still has better low light performance then all canon rebel DSLRs and comparable to cameras like 7d.But the Sony sensors have much better DR and color depth.

yes it is the magical sony sensor at its very best there.

It would be interesting to compare low light performance of A77 and D3200 (it is the same sensor inside both insint it?). If A77 matches D3200 then it is excellent work by Sony in the A77.

The D3200 doesn't have SLT mirror and i don't think the D3200 has the same sensor has in A77 or NEX 7.

According to DXO it is the same sensor in all 3 cameras.

PS - and you can see the A77 low light sensitivity suffering due to the translucent mirror. To quote from the same page:

"its weak results are due to the camera’s translucent mirror system that consumes some of the light and generally reduces the sensitivity from 1/3 to 1/5 EV"
