Just realized that Canon updated its post-processing S/W to Ver 4.X. Its one of the best pre-processing S/W (profile corrections, TIFF creation etc) before taking it into Aperture/LR/PS.

Of course its a very good stand alone Post-Processing S/W too.

any offers on nikon d3300 anywhere?

Mods, if this post is OT, please delete. A colleague has a pending order of Canon 1200D with 18-55mm and 55-250mm from amazon. If anyone in Pune wants to buy this, you can get it with full warranty. Currently the package is having minimum price of 28k on snapdeal. PM for details.

Ordered a Nikon D3300 for 28k on flipkart today. Was tempted by the double lens kit of Canon 1200D.

Went ahead and bought this yesterday. Was planning on getting Canon 1200D but the specs of Nikon tempted me. Jumping from a Lumix P&S to DSLR.

Have messaged the details. Yes, glad I made the right choice. Didnt get time to experiment with it much. Tried few shots and it looks good indeed.

Hello Fellow Bhpians,

I am finally looking to buy a DSLR (Hobby Photographing). I am attending a course in my city to get started, I asked few professional photographers and they told me to buy Nikon. I need a very basic DSLR which would just do the job for my occasional photographing needs untill I get used to and learn more by clicking. Please pour your suggestions, also is it alright to buy online?

Thanks.

It's an AF lens. There is no motor in it for focus.

Didn't face these problems with my new Nikon 18-140 on my D3100. I did notice that focusing at low light could be a pain sometimes.

Has anyone used "Tamron SP AF 17 - 50 mm F/2.8" lense ? What is your opinion on this.

I am looking for a lens to be used indoors. I have a 35 mm prime, but that is not wide enough in quite a few situations (and I dont have 1 lakh to spend on Nikon 24 - 70).

@NFB, I have. My experience - not all copies have the same consistency / accuracy. Focus & color saturation are typical factors that can fall short.

If you are buying one, then pls check for the specific piece thoroughly before purchase. Alternately, the 17-55 Nikkor - which is a good one.

Thanks for the heads up.

This one costs 1 lakh :( . Nikon has amazing set of lenses for such usage but those are way beyond my budget (each lens costs around 1 to 1.5 lakh).
