if you like that so much then you should check out GTA 4. It is even more mind-boggling.

Well I play the PC version. And I wonder whether GTA4 will run in my laptop fine. You know all these new games are made to run slow on existing good & capable hardware just to force you to upgrade your graphics card and so on.

Mine is Core2 Duo @ 2.1 Ghz, 4GB dual channel DDR2 ram, and Intel X3100 onboard display chip, runninng Vista HP SP1.Any idea whether this is any good for GTA4?

I am not an expert on computer hardware requirement for PS3. But, i doubt if there is any graphic accelarator card that will help a PS3 game work on a computer. Each game is more than 5GB and needs a lot of processing speed and ram that you have probably is alright.

But, I don't even think a PS3 game can be played on a computer. maybe via. its simulator. But, then again i am not sure.

thanks man those are really assuring words.

normally i keep it on some cushions and keep it near the t.v and play it and then pack it in my case and keep it. would it be safe to keep it on the cushions or some kind of table.

I would suggest you keep it on the table or a flat hard surface(floor),as cushions are soft and the PS2 might be getting into it with its own weight and blocking the way of hot air from it,rest you dont take any tensions on the PS2 blowing up by overheating its tried and tested product so wont let you down, and gaming consoles are designed to take hours and hours of abuses

Dont put your ps2 over a mattress or anything like that... try getting that vertical stand for it. And even if your ps2 goes kaput...buy a new one. Its dam cheap now...5 or 6 g's.

Reviving an old thread.

Whats the latest price for a PS2? And where in Mumbai can I buy a genuine (but chipped/modded) console? I would also like to buy an additional controller for it at the same time.

Does the PS2 have HDMI or component video connectivity to the TV?

Are pirated discs available easily or do I need to buy at stores such as Croma, eZone etc? Whats the cost of each game?

Thanks in advance

lamington road is the place to be if you are planning to buy one - you can get the ps2 from a lot of other places too at the same/similar price points but will be hard done by the lack of games there.

LR is a mecca for getting cracked ps2 titles - did i suggest god of war 1&2 - a must buy

Which would be the most 'reliable' place to buy from:
1. Alfa
2. Lamington Road (please name specific shop)
3. Heera Panna (again, name of shop please)

Also, what will be the cost of the console+controller+memory card?

Sony has slashed the prices of PS2. It now costs 99 USD in the US. Can we expect similar cuts in the Indian version too ? I guess the PS2 now retails at 6450, last checked at eZone.

I am looking at a PS2 because its very affordable, unlike the XBOX and the PS3. I am not into heavy gaming. But dont mind spending a few hours during the weekends.
