Microsoft (I did the check for updates thing yesterday) presents IE8 as an important security update!

What's important about it, for them, is it comes pre-configured to use bing :(

I am a great fan of Firefox with all the goodies you get as addons. Sometimes I try to use IE, but then I go back again to FF b'cos of its addons like delicious bookmarkers and downthemall

Please read through Firefox Crashes While Printing (Intel Mac)

Looks like a bug in the FF + printer driver combo.

Which of version of FF are you using? Check for updates.

You can also try printing to postscript format, and later convert post script to pdf. (PostScript is a printer language, so direct printing is not a problem; but I am clueless about how to do it on your OS). Direct printing of PS too is possible. I usually print to PS format (do not ask why - I simply us PS). and then print the ps file using the command line (``lpr foo.ps''), though the printer is connected to this machine.

Hello guys,

To start with, I am a new member here and like everyone else, love reading Sam's YetiBlog. clap:

But while reading, I saw many comments like 'Only key working is F5', 'Need a Keyboard Replacement', etc.

So I just wanted to share a small tip out here.

This will work for only Mozilla Firefox users. To start, if you don't have FireFox, you can download it from their homepage. After downloading and installing, we need a plugin called 'Reload Every'. You can download it from here.

After downloading, just restart your Firefox. When you right click anywhere on the browser, you will get a dropdown menu. In that you can set the time after which the page will automatically refresh itself. You can set the time period according to your own wish.

This will surely save your bucks on buying a new keyboard very often.

In the past years I was using the Internet explorer. But later on slowly I changed over to Fire fox. If any one asks for the reason I don't know. In fact I did not face any problem from Fire Fox so far.

I am a Chrome guy ! Love the interface

A must addon for FF users : Memory Fox

Hope this helps. My FF was taking too much memory and crashing under heavy use.

Yes this problems was there with FF some time back, but it is working fine for me. Do ensure that you have the latest version of FF 3.5.6 on your machine. FF team seems to have fixed most of the bugs resulting in frequent crashes.

A good amount of RAM will deliver better performance as FF is quite memory intensive.

Been using Opera since 9.2 release. It has a lot of nifty features which make browsing the net so enjoyable. My favs are:
>Mouse gestures.! Just love the convenience of opening/closing tabs, reloading pages, going back/forward with just a slight movement of the mouse.
>The interface.! Second only to Chrome in minimalism but so much more useful than Chrome's interface.
>Ability to block flash ads and images by right clicking and selecting "Block Content".
>Speed Dial.
>Turbo mode in Opera 10 when I am forced to use GPRS connection.
>Opera Link to keep Opera Mini on my mobile synchronized with Opera 10.
>Ability to reopen any previously closed tab and not just the last one.

My only gripes with it are lack of Firefox type add-ons and incompatibilities with quite a few number of sites, in which case I use Chrome.

same here
and moreover the google feature and most noticeably you tube is wee bit faster on chrome & so is gmail compared to mozilla, maybe because they are of the same branch

shifted from Fire Fox to Chrome since the Chrome launch. Simple and Fast.

Guys, my work laptop is getting replaced with a newer one. Is there any way I can transfer the entire browsing history, saved passwords, form information and bookmarks of my browsers ( FF and Chrome ) to the new laptop ?

I dread starting afresh after 3.5 years !

I'm sucker for bling. Chrome it will be.

Firefox... you can move all the information in your profile by copying the relevant files. There's a trick to getting the new Forefox to recognise that profile that I can't remember, but it is fully documented on the Mozilla site
