Sorry navin for being OT..
guess what! I am yet to buy a phone for myself as my deal for Moto680i dint matearlize.
So now cant decide between N73 and SE W900i,later coz of its media player capabilities which i want more than digicam.
But now SE P990 thingy is confusing me even more though i dont have that much budget.

How is this phone & Can i expect its prices to fall 25-30k with 2 months?

Uhhh... It is HTC Hermes, not Hernes. Hermes is the HTC internal code name for that phone/hardware unit. (for example, the O2 XDA IIi I own is the HTC Alpine, and Satish's JasJar is the HTC Universal).

The Hermes is rebranded (renamed) and sold in a whole lot of names by various Operators and other companies like Imate, Dopod & Qtek. They add some additional custom software etc. and sell the unit in their name.

HTC sells this phone as the HTC TyTn.
The JasJam is one of the Hermes-renamed-units sold by Imate.
Others are [SIZE=-1]T-Mobile MDA Vario II, Cingular 8525, Orange [/SIZE]SPV M3100, Dopod 838. I'm not sure if I've covered them all here. There maybe more. New ones keep springing up everyday.

I don't think the Hermes is available yet (as the Imate JasJam or otherwise) in India. Prolly you maybe able to get a JasJam from the Middle East.

1. I dont know how to post pics.
2. my P990 seems to want to go on or off of it's own volation when i get back to mumbai on friday i will call up the dealer and ask him to fix/replace it
3. RSJ (DOC), my wife has the N73. It costs 24.5K with bill and warranty. The P990 is 10K more but has PDA functionality.

The N73 might be the better phone, defintely the better camera, has EDGE, and worked out of the box.

The P990 has PDA functionality, no EDGE, and in my case is bugging me by going on and off. thankfully i am using it with a spare SIM card so i am not handicapped.

I am sure this is a firmware bug or something but I dont like devices that dont work straight out of the box (my Mac Mini, Ipod, Palm T3 all did). Steeroid is more of a techie than I (that is a huge understatement) and I suspect the same phone in his hands would have worked fine. :-)

The P990 feels better built than the Atom. I will post more when it decides to work properly. Oh how I wish Steeroid was in Mumbai! :-)

My friend has one & his p990 keeps freezing,crashes all day though it's not a stable device .
