Poor fit and finish ( obviously we saw this when we bought ) and recurring problems .If possible stay away from Pai Traders in Koramangala,Bangalore.

+1 to that. Actually almost all brands seem to be pretty low on quality lately. All seem to be very low quality Chinese stuff made with just lowest cost in mind. The only worthwhile build quality I'v seen is Panasonic. Philips is second (not great, but definitely better than most other brands like Maharaja, Bajaj, Birla (just awful), etc. Not worth even if they substantially cheap. Other options could be brands that are at least still Made in India, like Preethi, etc. No personal experience with them though.

I am on lookout for fridge with 5 star rating.
roughly around 250lts, double door fridge.
Please share the details/deals on best performance model as well as VFM model.

Guys, please suggest a good storage Geyser with 15L capacity. Also is it worth buying from Letsbuy.com?

I would recommend AOSmith. Excellent product. 15 L models are available in both vertical (model EWS) & horizontal (model EWSH) orientations.

A. O. Smith: A. O. SMITH WATER HEATERS

Have bought small stuff from letsbuy and they are allright. You could opt for cash on delivery to avoid any surprises.

Thank you Khoj. A.O. Smith is very sleek. Is there any discount coupon we can use in letsbuy now?

thanks.

could you please mention the respective model no. of the refrigerators?

Apart from star ratings, what should i look for?

Folks, I am planning to buy a Split AC before the summer season starts. I already have a 1.5T Samsung Split which has become old and keeps breaking down quite often.

Want to buy something thats more reliable and also has good customer support!

Since you are in Chennai support should not be a big issue. I will suggest Daikin, Panasonic and Hitachi. Just make sure it is R410 since a split does need occasionally charging, and R22 will become increasingly expensive.

Why would a split need charging more than a regular AC?

Since a split has four flared connections, plus two valves with spindles on the outside, they do tend to leak a bit. So having to recharge / top-up after five years or so is not that uncommon.

I may add that in Chennai due to corrosion a condenser with copper fins will be a big plus.

What is R410 or R22!? Is that the gas rating!?

Any specific models from Hitachi/Panasonic/Daikin you would recommend sir! :)

Following the Montreal Protocol, R12 is history, and R22 has to be totally phased out by 2022. R410 is the replacement. I had raised this query and there was a response in this thread. You may have to look back a bit. In general R410 guys will be expensive, and they will be highlighting it on their sites /brochures.
