Team-BHP - The Home Appliance thread

I'm looking to change the filter on my Mi air purifier 2.
Only the regular filter (blue) is available via the Mi Store in India.
There are also a green and purple filter which are enhanced and antibacterial which can't be bought in the usual online portals here. Have to look at Banggood, AliExpress, gearbest, etc.
Any idea if it's worth getting the 'better' filters? And where can there be purchased in India.

The problem with home appliances is that most of the manufacturers just get the appliance from China and rebrand it. There are a couple of manufacturers of compressors for home appliance left in India, so unless you know for sure that the manufacturer is making all the components, it is dicy buying from brands having very little market share.

Liebherr is a Swiss manufacturer famous for making construction machines and high grade freezers and Refrigerators. It is good that at last some innovative European manufacturer has taken an interest in bringing their products to India.

Expect it to be expensive. It is in Europe, so I guess it will be more so here! Luxury brand.

How does one quieten down a quartz wall clock? I have two ajanta wall clocks doing duty and the constant tick tock made by the seconds hands during night time drives me nuts. Is there any easy fix for this? If not are they ANY quartz clocks out there that makes NO noise?

In case you want, you may go for digital wall clocks or those analogue ones which have a silent sweep. Seiko, Ajanta, etc do make such clocks. Try searching on Amazon with the key words as 'silent sweep wall clocks' and take your pick.

However, expect these to pack off in 3-4 years time. In my experience, these rarely last beyond 3 years.

Had a hearty laughter with your description of the problem (in a good way). Recently when I had to buy a wedding gift for a friend saw quite a few "silent clocks" on Amazon. Not sure what crystal they have or use though.

To drown out random ambient noise, I turn on the fan when sleeping - even on those nippy nights! To reduce the effect of the chill, I have some good comforters that helps settling into a deep sleep!

Although I am among those that prefer to have less "stuff" around me, I have found that be a better overall solution.

I bought this clock at 'Metro' which does NOT have a seconds hand and it is quiet silent. The brand is something called 'Tarrington House'.

Ones with sweep motion i read run thru batteries fast and it looks like they don't last too long as well. So no no for me.
Clocks without seconds hand seems the best option. Thanks for the suggestions!

I moved digital about 8-10 years back with ajanta. The light is sometimes a bother and the ajanta ones do lose time and need to be manually set once every few months. We have 4-5 at home and most have this issue. Reason for going digital was due to my myopia and general visibility in darkness. In pursuit of an accurate digital clock I researched GSM digital clocks, network clocks etc but they were pricey. A good option is an old tab with the right app or the Amazon spot. The spot is accurate and the dial dims based on ambient light automatically.

Our 8 year old home microwave stopped working yesterday so need a new one urgently. Can someone recommend one with a least 23L capacity minimum. FYI I am using a IFB one at my office since last 1 year which has been working great. Though I am open to any good brand which is reliable and long lasting.
