How are Kaff in-built hobs ? Two reviews on one model on amazon.in rate it 1-star.

Ours is fine, even after a decade. The auto-spark switches have failed or stuck on a couple of times. They don't like it if anything is boiled over and liquid runs in there. Probably most others wouldn't either. Service, when required has been good and prompt.

Can anyone please review the new range of Washer+ Dryer washing machines. Is it worth the extra cost and how has your experience been. Also which brand should I buy- I am considering LG, Siemens and Samsung in that order.

recently purchased a Samsung wm with dryer. Haven't used the dryer aspect of it too much but it has helped when I needed something available in a few hours. My need wasn't much for a dryer but went for it as we sometimes have an issue with bird dropping in the area that we hang our clothes out to dry. We will probably use it regularly in the winter and rainy season.

Not sure about Kaff, but we've had 2 great experiences with Faber :)

Back in 2002, we got a 4 burner Built-in hob free on purchase of a Faber Chimney. Served us very well till we did a complete revamp of the kitchen in 2017. Again, after a good amount of research we zeroed in on a Faber.
I think it will come down to size of the hob (outer dimensions) that can fit your counter top, number and placement/layout of burners and type of burner (Italian-Aluminium or Brass. We found that the Italian ones are easier to clean and liquids cannot seep downwards into the burner as compared to the Brass ones).

Basically if you have space, then buying a WM and separate dryer makes more sense as
. The cost of WM with dryer is same as that capacity WM and a separate dryer
. In most cases the dryer capacity is half that of WM, so if you have a full load of clothes, you will have to dry in two cycles.

I am extremely happy with LG, which is going strong at 6 year mark. We got a 7 year AMC and in that period it broke down only once - MB went about a few months ago. What is nice is that barring rubber parts every thing is included in LG extended warranty, so the MB change did not cost us anything.

For dryer I find that IFB is the best buy. It is listed at 20K, but with all sorts of schemes floating about you can get it as low as 17K online.

Agree on both counts. We have a LG WM and a separate IFB Turbo Dry 5.5kg drier (the older version bought on a deal for 12k).

My personal experiences with this IFB standalone drier:
1.Tends to be noisier because of the exhausted air stream
2. Needs an exhaust arrangement/piping (if installed indoors) for the warm air to exit. The damp air tends to encourage mold formation especially in humid areas, and hence piping is compulsory to route it out.
3. Air filter needs to be cleaned each time especially after drying towels, duvets and other lint-prone clothes.
4. Obviously one needs to physically shift the wet clothes from WM to drier!
5. Service is pretty acceptable as my maid had banged the door shut too hard and damaged the switch. Was changed by an authorized technician with a total hit of 850 bucks.
6. This unit (550TD) is very plain looking and not as snazzy as the Korean or German brands. I don't mind as it is dirt cheap compared to the latter!

I have used a drier for more 13 years in India. First one was a Haeir one which lasted for around 10-12 years. Current is IFB. In the first one, I had fitted the tubes for 7-8 years after which I removed it & stopped using it. With my IFB, the installation guy himself told me there is no need for it because my Drier is in the balcony.

After using my LG 6.5 kg top loader for 13 years, exchanged it & purchased a new LG 6.5 toploader. The old one was still working fine, but the body had started rusting badly (I have kept the machine in my bathroom all through the 13 years). Shopped around & got the best deal at Kohinoor Electronics - 16,500 after exchange.

What's the best place to I buy plastic covers & trolley for the machine?

I had asked some questions related to Dishwashers earlier and heard good feedback on Bosch Dishwashers here on the forum. Based on the feedback we have zeroed in on the Bosch as a brand.

However, there seems to be two similar models and I am not very clear what is the difference between the two models:

Called the Bosch store and the guy said some economy modes are different in the two but did not explain very clearly. He said the more moving item is the SMS46KI01E and recommended that. But said both models are available.

Any additional information about these two models would help in my decision making. Thanks!

As an update, my US purchased RO was not generating pure water in my house. I checked the water pressure in my house and it seems to be at around 10psi. Took the unit to my sister's house and saw their pressure boosted line had in excess of 70psi. The RO worked well and was generating pure water. I am now going to install an overhead grundfos pressure booster pump. I have been advised a 0.9HP for 3-4 bathrooms. We have an independent house with 4 bath and showers and a servants bathroom outside and two taps outside. Should I go in for a higher capacity pump or will this 0.9 HP suffice? My brother in law uses CRI 1.5 HP but he says water slows down if two taps are opened at the same time. He is going to swap to grundfos himself.

Samsung ecosense user. Product is ok - does its job. Drying takes more time than our earlier tumble drier from IFB. A full cycle with 7-8 kg of clothes takes 5 + hrs.

Thanks for the feedback. My parents were not confident of trying any other brand and also were hell bent on buying only a washing machine and no dryer. :deadhorse So eventually replaced the old Siemens with another Siemens "IQ 500" from Croma. Incidentally, both LG and Samsung are more expensive than Siemens and Bosch.

I wanted to know how effective are the standalone dryers? I have a Bosch washing machine. Looking for a dryer so that the process of hanging clothes on ropes is eliminated. Hence a query to all dryer users. Does the dryer make the clothes dry enough to be put in the wardrobe? or need to be still hanged on the rope?

It will be dry enough to wear.
