Thankyou Navin Ji
Any idea about the price range of FZ18 and 560 ?

Thanks
Prashant

About 20K. I know someone who got the Kodak P880 for about 14-15K some time back. Now this guy is a semi-Pro and got the Kodak as a sort of backup to his Nikon film and digital SLRs. so dont write that aged Kodak off either.

I was checking out Amazon.com and came across this deal ->

And do you have any idea about the quality of product , is it refurbished or something , is it with Bill and Warranty ?
Sorry for being a PEST :Frustrati

aren't you in new delhi?

Correct me if I am wrong, but the s5is is not much of an upgrade over the s3is. The sensor isnt any better, only the megapix count has gone up. Ofcourse it does have the hot shoe for attaching a more powerful flash, but nothing really substantial.
I have an s3is myself. its a good cam, but nowhere near an slr! period.
In that range you should also check out the fuji 6500fd. Pretty good cam though bulky and its got raw support too.
But if you willing to spend more cash on your cam n gear in the future, i suggest you stash away the 18k and get an slr when you some more money.

Please go to the SD14 site and click on the sample photographs. Yo will be pleasantly surprised. As for lenses I think sigma makes the maximum choices/variations in lenses.

Err sorry... my fault. I mixed up the SD14 with a DP1 lol:. SD14 is the SLR, DP1 is the point and shoot.

Agree with BMW here, in the prosumer range the Fuji's are the winners if you talk of sheer colors and dynamic range.
However some other features(or lack thereof) let Fuji cameras down a little bit

and noise or lack thereof

Fuji's newer prosumers claim to support ISO as high as 3200.

Does anyone has any experience/info on how close is that to reality? Even if ISO 800 images are usable that is cool for a sensor of this size.

Look at this

ISO 800 is pretty good, and much better than the competition.

Thanks for the link. Looked for tis review couple weeks back, but could not find it.

I have S9000, and S100fs looks like a useful upgrade once price comes down to $500 range.

It has IS / better lense/ better sensor

I hope you've considered that you may have to pay customs duty on your purchase.

I dont think that will happen. The IS-1 is still more than that and it is much older.

Maybe it wont. Its just me experience. When S9000 came out, it was it similar range of 700 - 800$ (think that was in October 2005 or Early 2006).

By the time I bought it (Aug 2006), it was available in B&H at 550$.

IS1 seems to be a camera capable of infrared, so maybe thats why its still costly (niche market).
