The Nokia
E63 is available for 11K (maybe even less in the grey market) and is VFM at its price point. Of course, if you have a budget of 15K, you might as well consider the
E71. It currently costs around 17K but the price may drop a bit since its successor (E72) was launched recently. All these phones have the BlackBerry form factor, with QWERTY keyboards.
Edit: I've used only Nokia phones in my ten years of mobiledom, so can't speak for BlackBerry etc.

BB 8520 @ Rs.14990 including bill and taxes @ Mobile Store as of today.
Other option is Nokia E71 @16990 .. as suggested by other members.
BB - no idea on reliability. Heard some issues with service and you can read through a thread on the same in Gadgets section itself. If your company wants you to get BB only for corporate mail access get this.
Nokia - Reliable and service is better. Has all BB services. Nokia messaging works well too. If it's for your personal mails get E71. ( Can use it for corporate mails too but depends on the company preference)

Hi guys.
I ve lately realized that even though i have a Sony cyber shot camera i rarely carry it around with me.And as a result when i m travelling around and i see something that i like to capture on a camera i ll be helpless and wished i had a good camera. So my only option is to buy a good camera phone as it is the one thing i ll never leave home without.
This is where i need your help guys.I need suggestions on a phone within a 20k budget. My requirements are not much. it should have atleast an 8 Mp camera and enough memory to store photos. And the photos clicked should look good on the phone s screen too.It should have a decent battery back up too.And yes Nokia or sony ericsson only.
Thanks guys.

check out the following
Nokia N82 5MP + XENON FLASH
Nokia N86 8MP + LED FLASH + WIDE ANGLE LENS
SE SATIO 12MP + LED & XENON FLASH
errmmm N79??
i dunno about N82 but i ve heard that N86 has some software complaints and i dunno why but the satio didnt impress me(Not the camera but the phone)stupid:
Thanks for the reply guys. E63 looks like the best VFM option. The money saved could be used to get the Canon 55-250. :)
Is the E63 comfortable to type on? I found the keys a bit too small, maybe because I was using the dummy phone?
Do you hit wrong keys frequently?
While typing, one does tend to hit the wrong keys, but the brilliant auto correct feature and t9 correction is spot on. Buy without any hesitation. There's no better combination available, to beat the e63 presently.
Mods pls merge this thread with the mobile phone thread. Didnt see the thread till i started this stupid:.
The Nokia web-site is taking enquiries prepratory to its launch. the price is a shade under 23K. only two colours are announced - the black+silver and the brown, unfortunately no grey/silver. Seems they will start shipping it in the next week or so.
Cheers,

The Sony-Ericsson
Satio has a wonderful 3.5 inch touchscreen with a 16:9 aspect ratio widescreen display and a 12.1 megapixel camera with face detection, image stabilizer and a really awesome Xenon flash.
But Satio has big problems
The Satio has no built in WiFi.
And recently accessing some applications switches off the phone!
Phones4U, UK and
Carphone Warehouse, UK have
discontinued selling the Satio and thrown it off their stocks.
Sony Ericsson Satio withdrawn by mobile sellers | Electricpig Sony Ericsson Satio withdrawn due to glitch
Satios are being returned to the manufacturer as Sony Ericsson has till date been unable to provide a downloadable fix.
Interestingly however, TV advertisements in India have not yet stopped singing the praises of this Satio.
I didnt knew Wifi wasnt present on the Satio.... its a big minus IMHO on a multimedia smart phone.
A phone of such a price without Wi Fi is a big no no.Yet another reason for me to stay away from satio.:D

Hi buddy,
I don't think higher MP = clarity and detail. (Experts correct me if I'm wrong)
The main thing is that the lens should be good enough to capture the details. 5MP is more than enough to get a good picture with all the clarity.
Technology is important and of course the optics.
Get N97 or other nokia phones with 5MP camera - Depending on your requirement of smartphone or a normal phone
Attached a pic from my Nokia E90 3.2 MP Camera. The waterfall pic reduced to 800x600 for easy upload, else file is 2.17MB

I may be wrong but i ve found Sony ericsson camera phones better than their nokia counterparts.Hence i would personally prefer a Sony ericsson camera phone of 5 or 8 MP.i ve zeroed in on the C905.Wats the opinion about it guys?
