There is no perfect sub 15k Android phone in India. Something or the other would always be missing in a sub 15k Android phone. |
Chinese phones being sold by MicroMax, iBall, Karbon etc are quite close to it and these retail for 6k to 12k.
All of these are based on MSM7627a SOC, that means 1 GHz CPU + 512 MB RAM. This is the same chip used in Defy/Defy+ and other phones in 8k to 15k rage by Sony/HTC/LG etc.

Does anyone know a good place in mumbai to buy used phones? |
There's a huge used phone market near andheri station west.
They keep all types of phones and stuff. I sold my nokia 5230 to a shop there and bought a bb curve last year. This was from a shop called "hello brother". The used curve was pretty good but it got wet in water just after 3 months of use so had to get a new one.
Also check out heera panna and indraprasth(borivali).

P.s- Does HDFC have some agreement with mobile phone retailers in Delhi NCR in regards with the paymnet options??

Is it
Servepro warranty ?
A lot of ebay sellers these days are offering this Serverpro warranty. They claim to have 200 service centers across India. How good is that? Anybody got any experience with them ?

Hello,
I am on look out for a dual sim android phone and shortlisted Samsung S Duos. How is its performance compared to HTC Desire V? Unfortunately there are no reviews on S duos.

Hey Rohit.
I wouldn't recommend you to go for HTC One S. The Indian One S is 1.7GHz, dual core Snapdragon S3 processor against dual-core 1.5 GHz Snapdragon S4 processor. This is a older processor in a new skin.
I too loved HTC One S when it was announced originally. Finally after seeing it, I really didnt like it much.
I bought a Xperia S, costed 28600 in Hyderabad. I wouldn't say I'm 100% happy. You can check it though. Xperia SL and S are almost identical. Only difference is overclocked processor.
If you have patience to wait, I would recommend you to wait till November as Win 8 phones are set to launch and Lumia 820 and 920 look real hot.
Lumia 820, I believe should be under 30k.
Yesterday, I finalized to buy a Sony Tipo for my wife, as she liked it in one look after her earlier favourite Samsung Ace Plus was not available.
Agreed to buy and while inserting the Sim it got stuck an the sales guy removed it after trying for about 20 minutes and told that smaller Sims are only to be used, though the instruction manual shows regular Sim in the pics. I left without buying.
Is the salesman right here regarding the Sim size? Connoisseurs kindly advice.

No of course not. If you managed to put in a regular SIM (called mini SIM), then of course that will be the size.
You can also check the Sim compatibility of the tipo on GSMArena.com

Why do you think the new Lumia series can be better alternate to Android enabled phones in 30K range ?
I am in search for a high end mobile phone but currently on hold thanks to the fluctuating price trend in the recent time after the launch of i5 and Note 2.
Will wait till Nov end and see if the price of current mobiles settle down or any new sets like OneX+ or the new Lumia series make any difference.
S3 seems to be the best deal as of now

Even the prices of Note2 are decent now. I picked it up on launch day and loving every bit of Note2.

You can also consider the Asus Padfone 2. Steller specs (I think better than the SG3) and also looks to boot (hands down best looking droid and in class of iphone). Check it out on Google. It was unveiled by Asus yesterday and should be available soon.
BTW, Asus makes the Google Nexus 7 tablet.
I need a Java phone. I don't exactly know what's a java phone, but I assume it's a phone which can run Java programs - there is 1 Java program I need to run on it.
That's the whole reason I am replacing my current 1100 Rs Nokia phone with a Java phone.
So these are my requirements
1) Call Quality is still of paramount importance
2) Java Phone
3) should be able to connect to the net (will not be doing this frequently).
4) Phone should be of good quality and lasting - I tend to drop my phones frequently & occasionally also into water - my cheap Nokia survives this very well.
So can anyone recommend a phone for me?
