Yup the 520 and 620 have a 5 MP camera. But the 720 has a 6.7 MP camera with the carl zeiss optics which I presume might trump the 8 MP unit on the S2. To be honest I am not a huge fan of the image quality of Samsung's camera units irrespective of there MP. The 8 MP of my S2 doesn't feel like an 8 MP camera to me specially when compared to the units on Iphone 4S and Iphone 5.

720 has a steller camera. It has a very fast f1.9 lens. It will be leagues better than S2 especially in bad light or capturing motion.

Anybody with a budget around 18k should seriously consider the 720. Hands down the most VFM (if there is no aversion to the Win OS).

Buy a Samsung micro USB Car Charger from Samsung store for less then 300Rs.

The 2000 Rs Belkin charger it actually not just a USB car charger it is 200 Watt invertor with a USB port. You can use this invertor to run laptops , charge camera batterirs or any other such application. I have seen it being sold in Chroma and E-zone.

Thanks for the heads up. I got Samsung charger from flipkart for 270/-. A feature I like is, it switches off automatically if you don't connect a load to it. So one can leave it there in the socket.

It works fine with 3 of my phones with microusb from Samsung and Nokia. Flipkart delivery was prompt (just 2 days) as well.

Not only the unbranded one wasn't as good, it was pricier than this (I think 400+), was untidy with dangling wires which I did not need and did not work with 2 of 3 phones I have.

Thanks for the Belkin information. If it is inverter plus USB, it's quite good for the form factor shown in its picture. I have an unbranded one with same functions though it is bulky. If fits in my Wagon R though not in Safari due to a strange cigarette lighter size mismatch.

Mayuresh.

Finally got my Nokia Lumia 620, I have been using HTC Touch, Sony Experia Mini Pro and HTC Wildfire S (which was rooted and running on CM09). To me the Windows 8 platform is new but looks great and brings a new refreshing experience.

today my Capdase mobile car mount has gone kaput (cost 800 Rs., using it for last 1 year). suction mount rubber can't hold rest of the stand. this is what i am using currently.

i am looking for a new sturdy car mobile mount (I use extreme right corner on the windshield of my Vento Car to mount this as of now).
any suggestions?

Edit: i am aiming for this:

Hi Friendz

Please help me. GSM rena does not mention this (about the protocols) and other tech forums are also not helping it (too cheap stuff (feature phone) to talk with gurus). I know Android and Iphone support it and Windows phone would have this in some time. However I am not looking for a smart phone but a feature phone (for battery issues) and hence i am looking more towards Nokia Asha and Samsung Rex.

I do basic features (call, sms, alarm) but i need Carddav and Caldav protocol so that i can sync my calender and contacts with Google. Google stopped Mail for exchange and active sync and other tools which make nokia symbain useless.

looking for a feature phone (read: non touch , physical keyboard) supposting 2G (3G not a must) should support CardDav and CalDav and should have good battery life (atleast 3 days, with say 4 hours sync for contacts and calender and around 3 hours of calling per recharge i.e no push stuff configured.. nokia symbain N73. E5. E6 used to give such kind of battery but they do not have CardDav and CalDav support.)

The cheapest the best but i can stretch for 5-7K, beyond that i think it would make more sense for Androids only.

Based on your requirements, I would suggest you go for an android with a physical keyboard. Look at the Samsung Galaxy Chat, which you should be able to get your hands on for 7k.

Friends, am looking for a Non-camera mobile as my new organisation doesn't allow phones with camera.

Currently am using Samsung Note 2. Please suggest a good model with no camera.

Folks,

Need your help in choosing a Mobile Phone around 6K.

Requirements:
* A simple Single SIM GSM Mobile Phone which has the basics right:
1. Battery Back-up.
2. Network/Signal Strength.
3. Voice/Call Clarity.
4. Reliable.
5. Build Quality.
* What I don't want is a phone that pretends to be a smart phone @ 6K which seems to pack a lot on paper specs but screws up in real life.

I just bought a Nokia for Rs. 1200 couple of weeks back which gets all of the above right. If you are going to pay 6K, you must want some other features - so what features are you looking for?

Thanks carboy. Which model did you buy?

For 6K, I would expect a good camera which can record some videos. Nothing more.

Check the Nokia Asha 311. Nokia very rarely gets the basics wrong.

Thanks carboy! Liked it. Indiatimes is selling this phone for INR5625.

Guys - I read some good reviews on the Micro Max A110 canvas but somehow this phone seems to be in short supply - especially the white model. have you guys come across any outlet in Chennai or website where you found this phone to be available ?

I came across 1-2 outlets here in delhi, where they had Canvas HD with them, they were selling it for 14.5k.

So, keeping in mind that, Canvas HD is selling like hot cake now, Canvas 2 would be available too, try at small mobile shops, i am sure you can get one easily.

The A110 is available on snapdeal. White specifically is shown in stock only here for 10.5k. The A116 is available on saholic and univercell.in for around 14.5k

Both are very good phones in their respective budgets. Go ahead without any doubt for any of them.
