@ Navin, arent these more expensive than buying a branded one? Apart from getting the thrill of building your own, what advantage there would be to DIY? Also s/n ratio in the first one being 88db, is that a noticeable difference over 91db? Thanks!
I was looking for a budget Home Theatre system for quite some time but couldn't decide. Had auditioned Yamaha & Onkyo HTIB's in the range 22-30K. Yesterday just out of curiosity visited EZone as they are having special offers on 12 & 13th June. Saw a Denon 390xp system, found that the sound felt better than Yamaha & Onkyo, so booked it at the special priice of Rs. 27990/-. They have promised to deliver & install it by Wednesday. Will post the feedback & pictures soon.
I would have loved to go in for a Denon AVR 1910 & add the speakers over a period of time, but it would have gone way beyond my budget so had to settle down for this(@frankmehta was lucky to get it for a great price). I also wanted to audition the Pioneer Todoroki but didn't find any dealer in Pune stocking it.
@frankmehta: Next time if GlobalEasyBuy comes up with an offer like the one you got, please inform us so that we can also benefit!
Thanks everyone for discussing various systems on the thread. It was difficult for me to make a choice, but in the end the mind ruled over the heart.
So I too have caved in and bought a Denon 790. This is the equivalent of 1910 except for speaker B option. Beautiful receiver. I got a great deal for an open box, CND$300 including a 5 year extended warranty. Trying to set it up with my Polk 6750 set. But its bloody hard! Bookmarking batpigworld.com :D !
Frank, hows your set up progressing?

The Seas Mimir or Zaph SR71 for example are compared to speakers that cost $1000/pr+.
The advantage of building a kit is that you understand what goes in and once you understand this you can tweak the system to sound better for your taste/room/music. For example you can tweak the Q of the tweeter XO, the ammount of BSC, etc.. to tailor the speaker's sound to your taste.

Hi Kalinga,
Check out the wireless system from LG. I guess they also come with stand speakers and should fit in your budget.
Sorry Mods. Wrongly posted here. Kindly delet the post. I will put this on appropriate thread.

Checked this model. Got demo also. Quite satisfied with the sound quality.
Any review on this model??
is the price is correct??
Which other brand in this price range (30k to 35 k) ??
I need the system that should have two tower spekar.
Kindly help !!!!!!!!!
There's no SUB in that system, which is an important componant in a HT system. That alone can cost you anywhere between 5-10k for a good unit.
Look out for Onkyo and Denon models too.
I personally found Onkyo better than Yamaha at the same price range models.
I am using a Sony Home theatre since 4 years (DAV DZ-100 to be precise). When I shifted homes, the wires that connect the player with the speakers have got all messed up and add to that, my dog demonstrated the power in his teeth by cutting the wire which goes to the sub-woofer.
So, I am interested to know if we do get these wires in the market and the price of it. (I want new wires to connect all the speakers to the dvd player)
You can get Oxygen-free wire rolls for speakers from Tata Croma. Very costly. ( I have seen the rolls in Tata Croma, Bangalore)
