Not heard the Denon, but between the rest, you'll be better off buying a todoroki. Its my personal experience. Extend your budget by 8K.
Where did my last post disappeared?
When discussing with one of my friend, he suggested to go for good 2.1 system instead of 5.1 as my preference is listening to music than watching movies. I am not a movie person and still have my 21" Thomson TV bought in 2001. But planning to buy an LCD before 2010 soccer world cup starts:-)
My preference is 80% music and 20% movies.
Audio/Video Sources: My Dell/HP laptop, ipod nano, ext hard drive/pen drive and DVD player
Is it possible to buy a good 2.1 now and upgrade to 5.1 in the future if required?
I think people will kick me out of the building where I stay if I play todoroki!!!!!
@panky - I have seen your posts on todoroki few pages back :-))))

The idea is put your money on a good AV Receiver PLUS good bookseheleves for left and right. (This should be possible under 50K).
Very important: Once you buy such good thing, please also invest in a good voltage stabilizer. I know the products themselves have one, but its always good to protect them by an additional one. It will cost you about 3-5K depending on the capacity.
Once done you can then think of expanding it for Surround and the SUB.
If you get a good L and R, your music requirements will get served. The you can choose cheaper set for surround and the decide on the SUB. This way you can plan your purchase according to budget and choice.
I listened to Wharfedale Diamond 9.2 bookshelves in my friend's room and liked it. How about 9.2 with Norge 1000 amp?. Anyone know where exactly on MG road Vector's store is located?

No idea. I listened to the JBL Northridge bookshelf 6 years back. I liked it there and then and got it home ! Paid about 18K for a pair.

I've not heard the Wharfedales with Norge amps, but have a 9.5 with yamaha receiver.. and sounds great.
Vector is on Brigade Road, after St Josephs' college, opp. Catholic Club Entrance.
cheers!
There used to be a wharfedale showroom on Infantry road next to Samarkand? I went there once with my friend who was looking out.
Is it not there any more?

Did not like system 1, 2 - I am not an audio system expert. But did not like the out put sound quality of some of the song we played.
Fell in love with Norge 1000+Wharfedale Diamond 9.2 combination:D. We tried some pure vocal/instrumental/bollywood/soft rock/country music and we liked it.
Now price break up for this combo (after discount)

Norge 1000 - 13200

He suggested to go for Norge 2060 amp which is 80W - Rs.11500
I do not know whether these prices are good, so guys help me:)

The wharfedale showroom in Gem Plaza Infantry Road was owned by anand kumar - Decibels. Ph: 9886722937. He's moved to Southend Circle side and also stocks Mission
Anand B.R.
deciBels Inc.,
Bangalore.
Ph : 41130927, 9886722937.
I contacted Mashud and he quoted 15200/- for Wharfedale 9.2. Did not negotiate, planning to visit his store in a day or two.
When contacted Anand said his new store will come up after 2 months.
Update:
Instead of foing for a mass market DVD player I am planning to get a used CD player.
Marantz 5001 or Azur 540C any other suggestions? Anyone selling their players?
To be honest the 9.1 is a better speaker than 9.2. The 9.2 has bloated bass. Check out the Cambridge Audio S30 as well. IMHO its better than both and costs a fair bit less too.
