I've almost no exposure to PC based setups. But in your case it does look like you'll need a new soundcard with digital audio output. This would be either in the form of an optical digital or a coax digital.

This should give you an idea. HowStuffWorks "Why are there so many different connectors on my DVD player?"

Connect the optical audio out from the soundcard to the corresponding optical in of the receiver (both the receivers in the links I provided earlier, will have these inputs)
Connect the HDMI out from the graphics card directly to the TV. As it is now.

Somebody had told me (not here) to look for the "THX certified" mark while looking for AV products. And that is when the beow links hit me on my face.

I would also warn you that 5.1 rendering would be done by software, so you have a risk factor. And from my experience, the rendering is generally inaccurate and at very low output levels. I may be wrong, but I suggest you look into this before making the purchase.

THX is a certification given by a George Lucas company.
Dolby Digital is a compression technology developed by Dolby, its a format by itself and not a certification as stated.

Not necessary that THX makes a difference only when you are playing a THX certified DVD. A THX certification means that your media/hardware has passed a series of tests and is capable of reproducing a wide frequency of sounds with greater accuracy.
