i am trying to purchase LG Optimus one from letsbuy however i am confused as it shows two phones with the same specs however with different price tags:

1. LG Optimus One P500 for 10,299/-

2. LG Optimus One P500W
for 12,199/-

Just wanted to know what is the difference with the two models ??

P500W is white color and a bluetooth headset comes bundled with it. Hence, costlier than P500.

You can still get it using coupon ICICILB with 1000 discount. 16.2K is the latest price.

Where do i see list of all these schemes ?

As mentioned earlier, right now the contenders are Motorola Defy and Samsung Galaxy Ace.

My advice would be to go for the Defy thanks mainly to the fact that the Froyo upgrade for the Moto has been announced. The defy has better hardware and is unbeatable on the ruggedness front. The resale value for the Ace would be higher though. Oh and the Ace does not support Flash on its web browser.

Cheers !

oh ok , which make ? ? Have you never able to connect to the exchange ?

My email client was working till my compay shifted to exchange 2010 and my phone was 2.1. This has again started working after the 2.2 update.

then please check the android forums , they should be able to suggest the resolution.

SO I was finally able to get my MS Exchange mail running with the native email App. Works well and also shows my RSS feeds. Hasn't syncd fully as I guess it was on GPRS and not on WiFi.

Thanks--that was good information for a novice like me. I dont care two hoots for resale value. My usual habit is to buy something exciting and use it till it nearly dies---be it a car or a smart phone.:thumbs up

I need to buy an Android phone mainly for email, browsing and reading pdf documents. The voice quality also is very important. Budget is up to 30K.
Please suggest me some handset in this range.
I would greatly appreciate feedback on -

1. LG Optimus 2X
2. HTC Desire HD2
3. Samsung Galaxy S2
4. Google Nexus S
5. Sony Erricssion Xperia Arc

Between HTC Desire HD2 and Samsung Galaxy S2.
I doubt you'd get the S2 below 30k though.

Well even I would say go for Samsung Galaxy S2 but its prices are unknown in India. But I think it should be around 30k only. If you are in an urgent need to buy a phone why dont you try the Samsung Galaxy S-LCD. It is a Galaxy S but instead of AMOLED it has LCD screen. I would strongly recommend you to wait for some time and go for Galaxy S2. I do not think Google Nexus S is available in India. I think shops like Alpha might give you but I dont think you should buy it from there.

Thats very low life for such a less usage! Are all Defy phones like that or could there be a battery fault?Other defy owners please share your phone battery life :)

I need to recharge my defy once a day. My usage includes heavy gaming, surfing and live wallpaper etc. I got the phone this week so tend to play with it all the time :).

In my opinion 2 days is a very good battery life for an android with a decent screen (3.7"). My Nokia E71 had to be recharged everyday with little usage.

Android phones have been plagued by low battery life. This is not limited to a particular brand but observed in almost all smartphones in these days. Ofcourse if your usage is minimal (just calls and messages) then your battery might last a little longer. But if you browse on your phone, click lots of pictures or watch videos then battery life will be short.

Guys after quite a few comparisons and searches,i have narrowed my options to Motorola Defy & Samsung Galaxy I9003.So which one do you guys feel is better? Because this is my first android phone and i'm complete noob here. Also how much storage memory comes with Defy and I9003 out of the box?Do they give any memory card along with the phone? And is the I9003 and Galaxy 4Gb shown in Samsung website one and the same?

Just put in proper settings e.g Domain/username, Use secure connection (SSL) and Accept all SSL certificates.

But as I said, there was more "trial and error" than anything at work here!
