I'm planning to get an Android phone, my budget is 18K max. I'm currently using a BB Curve, and this would be my first experience with Android. Please suggest me a good phone within the range

My S3 has become very slow and is hanging frequently since I upgraded to Jelly Bean. How can I go back to ICS?

Was casually surfing and found the Samsung Galaxy S2 going out for unbelievable INR 21499/- clap:clap:

Its for a limited time and use have to use the coupon for Superdeal.

If you can increase your budget with a few K's, this phone will be an excellent buy at this price !!

You can download the Stock ICS ROM and flash it via ODIN. BTW, are you rooted?

These battery savers do nothing. I've tried all and ended up with same or maybe more battery drain. Plus the RAM drain too. In fact Juice Defender regularly failed to switch my data back on in morning. That led me to uninstall it.

Either go for Llama or a non location based app like Profile Scheduler. Just set the data connection to off at night.

Any feedback on this phone?

Seems to tick all the right boxes...wonder where I can get it though? Seems to be tied to Verizon...is it available unlocked and what price?

How do I root my Defy Plus to install WajkIUI? Links would be helpful.

Looking at the Build number, it looks like you have a "new" version of the Boot loader. So, rooting is not as easy as it was earlier. You can go to xda forums which has detailed steps for rooting.

Thanks. Actually I'd just landed on that thread about 5 mins back and am downloading all the files as I write this.

Any link where I can see some comparison of custom ROMs to judge which is the best ROM to begin with, something stable and efficient.

Thanks for the response but I don't know most of the words in that sentence :Frustrati

1. Am I rooted? I could be, if I knew what it means, how to do it and how would this help.
2. Download the ICS through ODIN. Sounds like a plan. What is ODIN?

Little help please:

anyone has any experience with Sony's a.s.s.?
my one month old Tipo will go for a warranty claim tomorrow.
more details in my thread.

I don't think there are any "comparisons" as such. Each ROM is good (or Bad) in its own way. Cyanogenmod 7.2 seems to be a fast and stable build (Esp. Maniac Build) and people seem to recommend it a lot. Then theres WajkIUI and ofcourse if you wanna experience Jellybean, you have CM10 as well. So you got to try it our yourself. There is a Facebook page as well - https://www.facebook.com/groups/defyhangout/ Try this for suggestions.

If you have not consciously done a procedure called Rooting, you are not rooted :)

Galaxy Nexus users, interested to know your Antutu benchmark score with the latest update of Antutu. I could just touch 8500 sometimes and it seems the score is not going upwards whatever you try - looks like limit is set to this model in Antutu, which is not good

I benchmarked my phone for the 1st time and this is what I got. There are some phones (called MI 2) that score 20K+ wonder which ones they are. Now to try it on the S3. By golly it's only a phone :) as long as it runs stable and most importantly works as a phone ought to I am happy. The other software is secondary.

Consider Sony Xperia U, Xperia Sola & HTC One V.
