Out of stock on Flipkart...which probably means its out of stock at most places!

And that 5MP camera is so bogus.

I can survive on the one I have for a few months. Any phone worth waiting for in the early bit of 2013?

Buying a Motorola phone might not be a good idea. Motorola India website is shutdown due to losses. Here is a quote from the igyaan.in website..

"The company is likely to continue its sales in India till the stocks lessen. It is rumored that India may not see any new products from Motorola. It was reported that the existing customers would continue to get the service centre support." :deadhorse

The android phone is becoming a lot of fun.

I find it useful in so many ways that I now regret buying a phone with less on-board memory.

I use these apps quite a bit and find them very useful:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...thaler.fuellog
- Helps keep track of fuel expenses and mileage.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...?id=com.strava
- Find interesting routes and compare yourself against other cyclists and runners.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...gle.production
- Cheap and easy way to stay in touch.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...=tunein.player
I now listen to internet radio in my car. So much better than the local FM channels.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...greader.reader
- News on the go.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/d....opera.browser
- Decent browser.

I use it too. Unless you've the PRO version, You'll lose all the data when you change the firmware. I lost many months of data that way.

The best one around.

Hi guys, I was looking to buy the licence for Sygic navigation app.

1) One option is to buy from within the app. Charges 19.99 euro.
2) There is another app in play store Sygic+MapmyIndia for appx. Rs. 1400.

Which of the above is best option? Does Sygic comes with TomTom maps in option 1? Or is the same ?

Finished with the latest update for Galaxy Note. Size is 14mb. Havent noticed any difference though.
Anybody with information on this?

EDIT - Improved stability is the new update.

It's still running on ICS 4.0.4. Am using Note original and not Note 2. Improved stability is the update. Havent noticed much of a difference.

It is available on Shopclues (http://www.shopclues.com/motorola-defy-plus-en-2.html)

Had it been discontinued, Flipkart would have marked it as such.

And btw the camera ain't *that* bad! Most custom ROMs out there in fact make it a HD camera!

Well that's a purely personal opinion I'd say. If warranty is your concern, you can always avail from a 3rd party provider like ServPro. As it is, many brands outsource their service.

I guess your update was botched. You are the only one I've heard who has not liked the 4.2

I find my GNex like it was on Day 1 - razor fast - after the 4.2 update. And the in-built Swype is a boon!

Could you give me details of ServPro? Google doesnt seem to show much. I need my existing defy sorted (the mike's still giving me problems - after replacing it at a local mobile shop). If that's fixed, I dont think a new phone is needed for a while.

IIRC the website was www.servpro.in

There were many deals on Galaxy Nexus bundled with ServPRO AMC on Ebay a few days back. That's how I heard of this concept.

I am not sure how good is Servpro. However, manufacturer warranty is something which gives peace of mind. And on top of that, if a company is thinking about shutting down business, we may not get spares after sometime. Keeping this in mind, buying a new product from them might not be a good idea.

I'm not sure about the Sygic app. However, recently Nokia has announced that it will be bringing its own app to the Android very soon and it will be free. Nokia maps are available for offline usage. So it might be a good idea to wait and see before making a purchase.

There is already a free gps navigation app ( with offline maps ) - navfree. I've tried it and It's a pretty good navigation app. :-)
