Hello BHPians,
The Samsung Galaxy S4 is rumoured to debut at Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this January. The phone is rumored to have a 5-inch AMOLED display with 441ppi density that gives the display 1920x1080px resolution. Other rumored specs include quad-core Exynos processor, and 4G LTE capabilities.

The ppi is increasing way out of hand... It's becoming marketing gimmick with such high values which isn't going to make a difference to human eye viewing.

HTC is also coming up with their 5inch full hd phone.

If things work out well, I am gonna be there in Vegas for the show this January.

Ordered my White SGS3 16GB today, got it for free thanks to a promotion :D

Now eagerly waiting for it. In the meanwhile, is there a way to transfer all data from my old Android phone to the New one in one Shot? None of them would be rooted so I believe Titanium wont be much of help.

I can ofcourse do it manually as both phones has microSD slot but would be great it all can be done in go.

Google will remember your installed apps if you have opted to sync, so in that case it would be just a matter of getting all of them installed again in the new device right?

I did the transition manually however, and wanted to do it so because I was migrating from gb to JB b:)

HTC already has a 1080p monster (the Droid DNA).

One good thing with the 1080p revolution is - this madness will stop here itself. Pretty much all of high end phones are gonna be 1080p soon. So we can expect less of emphasis on hardware and finally more emphasis on software (optimizing the android experience) and also battery. I am happy with this development.

by the way, the display on he Droid DNA is a 1080p SLCD3 and as per engadget, it is simply the best display out there, bar none and is fully usable even in bright sunlight. So smartphones are gonna be usable in bright daylights soon.

Pimped up my Galaxy Nexus.

Flashed r300 nightly of franco's kernel.
OC'ed to 1.6 GHz.
Tweaked color settings to get rid of that stupid green tint in SAMOLED.
Turned off all logging and event logging.
Changed the governer to dyninteractive.

Result?

Phone's performance has drastic changes. All 2D and 3D tests in quadrant were running at 59 or 60 fps :Shockked: for the first time!

Old quadrant score - 1960
New quadrant score - 3481

Disclaimer - I am not a believer of quadrant results but it can be used to compare your phone's performance against its own past ones.

Geekbench scores also showed remarkable improvement.

Was not entirely surprised to read that Samsung has stopped rolling out the GS3's JB 411 OTA due to issues faced by users who had already updated their handsets.

They are expected to release a fixed update later but no dates given.

Thanks, yes I know I can push my apps from online play store from pc, I was looking for a way so that I don't have to login to various apps & also transfer data from apps like gas buddy(I know I can import & export via SD card)

Also found out that there is an optional (that's how the site mentions)official JB update now available through kies or OTA , so wondering if I should update before using or should I wait & watch for any potential issues?

Does it make sense to buy a Motorola Defy Plus (if its back in stock on Flipkart) over the Defy XT or should I buy the Defy XT and sort its internal memory issue (the only downside I see when compared against Defy Plus) by rooting/custom rom?

Or on second thoughts, would the Micromax A110 Canvas 2 be a better buy with a budget of ~15k?

I know you said no root, but that seems to be the only solution here.
Why not root,install,and unroot?

Just ordered Micromax Canvas 2 A110 through flipkart based on this review

Why not buy the Nexus 7 tablet? It can be upgraded to JB.

I also recommend nexus7. I am happy with it so far. Quality display with very good resolution, quad core, jellybean 4.2 and battery which just lasts and lasts.

Is nexus 7 Available with warranty from Acer? Considering that it may not get the warranty, what is a good price for this? And where to pick it up? (I am hoping it will be in sub 20k region)
