Which Hatchback - Vote now

The hatchback market has never been hotter before. Its high time a poll is conducted to vote the best out of these babies. Additionally, it would also help those looking out for a new hatchback.

Select the best car on the package as a whole which includes but not limits to the following things (in no particular order) - Build, Space, A. S. S, Price, FE, Brand Name etc (and any other parameter which you might think).

Let the voting begin....

Aren't we comparing cars from different segments here? One one hand we have Santro and on the other 7lac Chev SRV!
Why not also include M800 and Alto then?

BTW for "overall package" in the 1.1 segment, my vote goes for wagonR. Does not excel in any particular area, nor is very bad in a particular area.

We are comparing different prices (the range seems to be from 4L to 7L) but I can only assume the author wants to see which of these offer the best VFM as well.

On a personal note, I would take the Swift Zxi (despite having not seen or heard much about the Spark) with the caeveat that if the upcoing Maruti Sx4 is offered in hatchback trim (chances are very remote) it would be a nicer buy.

It seems that the only companies offering any acceptable and consistent level of A.S.S are Honda (no hatch in India yet), Maruti, Hyundai and Tata.

There are dealers from other manufacturers that defy this rule but we are talking on a national level. Of the above mentioned 4, Honda has decided that the Fit is not fit for us Indians and Tata's fit and finish is still not up to par. So that leaves Hyundai and Maruti in a 2 horse race.

hmm...
Most people here will vote for the car they own, not what they actually think is VFM.
I have a strong suspicion that this thread is going to become "my car better than yours" battleground.

I have multiple votes.
Fusion - For its current price (5.7 ex-show all over India) it is fantastic VFM!
Indica Turbo - Same as above, fantastic VFM for its price. A fully loaded Turbo diesel car at the price of the top-end Santro/Wagon R/Zen!
Spark - Sound like the best petrol VFM car but cannot say until I drive it myself.

But since I can vote only for 1, I'm chosing Indica Turbo.

Btw, I have an Indica petrol, so am not voting for my own car . If I were to buy a car, which i'm actually thinking of, the practical choice for me in mind is either the Turbo or the Spark (after I test drive it) .... But I'm very tempted to go for the Palio 1.6!!!

A tie between Swift and Santro - both nice overall packages and great VFM in their segments.
Though I voted for Swift here.

Looks like a "mine is bigger than yours" kindda contest At least the way the poll is going. However, when it comes to a package... and you want to find which one is the best overall I think nothing beats the Turbo Indica.

Amazing power, great FE, cavernous interiors, fantastic stability at high speeds (makes for a good highway rider), nice looks, amazing price... whichever way you look at it it is difficult to beat a Turbo Diesel, IMO
