or else-either buy a new palio MJD SD, available at a discount or wait for the punto.
thanks for your advise sid

i planned to use my petra for 4-5yrs till i met a person from the used car market who (just because i wanted to know) offered me a ridiculous amount. i thought he was just joking till i enquired else where and got the same quote.i thought after 2 more years ill be in more loss .this happened 6 months back.then the linea comes along and iam drooling all over.but its just my hard luck that the savings had to be diverted elsewhere .
then this guy comes along with an tempting offer and.......

had a td today

had a small TD of the car today.
when i saw the car i hated it.
scraches all around.front and back bumper both had come out slightly.the car does require a lot of body work.
interiors were shabby too.
back seat was torn in the centre.

started the car and it was quite silent.
shifted smoothly in first and away she was.since its a Ldi there was no RPM meter but there was a distinct turbo boost between 30-40kmph.
i took the td with my wife who later told me that the car literally flew, she has never sat in a swift D.she said that she feels it goes faster than our petra, such was the turbo kick. couldnt really go above 50kmph but i was quite satisfied.i have driven a swift before and found the torque delivery to be great.but i did feel some vibrations in the gearbox immediately after shifting and then the vibrations died down.
not to mention the rattles!
but the small TD was really fun..
iam attaching some pics of the car and the engine.there is some white taping on the pipe that comes out of the head.i asked the driver and he said he wasnt aware of it and that he had just come to show me the car.

Avoid this car at all costs. It seems to be badly abused. Moreover, its running on yellow plates, so i guess u'll have to pay some more to make it into a private reg.

See, a pvt tour operator is selling it off ONLY at 50k. There has got to be a catch with it. Does he have the service details ?

I would say that you should stay away from this car.

also wont there be additional costs involved with respect to registration.converting from a commercial to private one.

Why should 137 kilometers per day be not possible, that too for a taxi?

3.65 L is way too expensive.

if budget restricts, go for base model palio multijet SD which has the same engine as swift ldi.
selling your petra will fetch you enough money to go for a new palio diesel.

thanx a million guys...
most probably iam not going for the car as i feel it is badly abused and roughly maintained.even i feel that 3.65 is a high price to pay for it.according to my calculations expenses to the tune of 35-40k have to be made immediately after purchase in addition to converting it from T permit to personal use.

You seem to have felt good while driving the car. If the guy agrees to sell it to you for 3L-3.1L, that may be worth it. The seats look shabby, but they have covers - hope the original fabric below the cover is clean and untorn.

It will be better if you avoid it altogether. From the looks of it seems badly abused vehicle.
cheers

Brother,Keep away from this please.
3.6 asking price is too much u can add some lakh and some thousands and get a brand new LDI.Not worth saving this little for something as precious as a car.

Go for a new one with a peace of mind which is worth crores of rupees.
