I was talking about the new generation fiesta, The B299 platform.

Well the difference is:

1. Body style
2. Interiors
3. Exteriors
4. Other mechanicals like suspension tuning etc.
5. Other creature features
6. Safety features

Though, Let us not go into details what these features are.

Got it.

My question however was why would someone go for a Mazda when similar car is available from Ford (and of course, vice versa). I guess there will be some differences that will make different people chose different versions.

By the way I was going to book a Figo today, if Mazda 2 is coming in a couple months then I can wait, otherwise not. any idea when will this be available?

From what I know, below models are close cousins:
1) Fiesta hatch Mazda 2 hatch
2) Fiesta sedan (the new Fiesta in India) & Mazda 2 sedan
3) Mondeo & Mazda 6

Maybe there are more

(finally) booked a Figo Titanium TDCI 40minutes ago with Fortune ford Hyderabad - wife will divorce me if I delay one more day.

Let me know what things to keep in mind (first car that I'm buying myself, though I paid 100% for two previous cars)

Re: Mazda All Set to Enter India

thats great news. Considering they are launching a hatchback, they must be having manufacturing here right? Are they setting up own plant or using ford facilities?
We need better japs here. From an enthusiast point of view, mazda and nissan cars are better to drive than toyota(obviously) and even honda

Re: Mazda All Set to Enter India

I feel if Mazda is coming in it is good news for Indian consumers. A good brand with good cars in their stable but they have to really do their homework before launching. They could end up like Nissan which is like just another Japanese brand trying to get a foothold into India and still the brand per say is hardly known or heard of by many many people who are prospective buyers.
They have to market their brand big time to attract attention of newbies who are first time buyers.

Re: Mazda All Set to Enter India

I have just booked my first car. Its not Japanese. But if Mazda enters India, i will definitely consider it for my second car, which most definitely would be a sedan.

I love Mazda cars for their engineering and performance. Build quality and VFM factor might remain an issue as is the case with other Japanese car makers in India. (VFM factor not applying to Suzuki though)

Re: Mazda All Set to Enter India

Mazda Miata!!!! I have only seen this car on Discovery channel where they were comparing cars and if I remember right Miata was ranked as number 1.

It is a nice sporty looking car with open top! Wish, I could drive one on all those ghat section with cool breeze in my head!

Would definitely want to own one if it is launched in India!

Cheers!
