The new Honda ad dubbed (transliterated, I should say) into regional languages is horrible. Humming something to the effect "Birds are flying.." with a picture of birds flying, and then HONDA.

Birds are flying, so what? What the hell does it have to do with Honda?

Till very recently (a couple of months ago -- I don't hear them now), there was a series of radio ads on a very popular (the most popular according to them) FM channel in Trivandrum, touting two of the greatest features of the Honda Brio and Amaze:

1) The Amaze!ingly powerful and responsive 1.5cc engine

2) The advanced Anti-Braking System (ABS) that would prevent skids and resultant accidents. In their words, this ABS (Anti-Braking System) would make the car GOOooooo!!!.

Forgive the childish emphasis -- purely a reproduction of their adspeak.

I've always wanted to call them on it, but since I only ever hear the ad when I am driving, I never got around to it. I can only call them after I reach my destination, and other concerns weigh the mind down when I do.

May be they are trying to say that "the birds are flying... So does the Honda"

I think the Honda logo (for 2-wheeler division) is actually a Wing.

I remember the caption of Unicorn when they launched it used to be "wing rider" or something similar. That's what they are probably referring to.

You are spot on.

The two wheeler logo indeed are the wings of a bird so it personifies that it gives riders, wings. Brilliant thought and design.

The new Honda two wheeler Ad is good. It reminds me of the "Hamara Bajaj" Ad which was also on similar lines.
At least it's better than the Mobilio Ad. The weirdest rap i have heard.

I laughed to that ad for an hour an a half... Who even approves these things?

Horrendous ad. Whoever thought that was rap. Especially funny when the entire family starts humming and shaking their heads together

The Mobilio ad is curiously dated - it's like the sort of ad which used to come out in the 90s. (and it would have been terrible then too!)

My biggest ad issue is the Karizma ad which was debuted in the FIFA world cup. It shows the Arctic and an icebreaker and the Karizma leaping about.....and then it shows penguins.

Obviously the ad agency guys were asleep in the class when it was taught that penguins are only found in the southern hemisphere not in the Arctic!

I agree that the Mobilio ad is kinda old-ish.

Here's one that I found very funny. Sorry, this maybe the wrong thread. But, the (un)lucky ones among us who have had the (mis)fortune to interact with an Italian family will know how this one goes.
