re: Spied: Tata Indica E-V2 XL- Update: video & more pics on P7

Guys, To have the answer i think one should try a rendering with Iindigo XL and make a hatch out of it with the tail gate of Indica.

One thing that strikes me is -- why cant they stretch it and make it a seven seater -- to have some competition albeit with dated looks for the RIII ( Ertiga)

In the spy pics, one can notice a lot of space behind the rear door which would look very odd without a glass to cover that area. So perhaps it is a stretched Marina. In the pic from indian autos blog, this space is the same as regular Indica and hence probably not an accurate rendition of what we see in the spy pics.

That honour has been reserved for the Manza.

That part really is confusing.

You mean an Indigo XL with the boot of Indigo CS? what purpose would that serve when XL is already there?
I'd guess this is a stretched Marina.

Sid the Indian Auto Blog rendition this time some how does not match the rear end sufficiently unless they had dummy lights at the back and some filler bits to confuse the photo catchers.

I believe, it is a CSW - Compact station wagon. The picture is bit wide to make us assume as bigger car. A Compact - sub 4meter indigo Marina will make sense for them to make a affordable vehicle in old platform.

Apart from the convenience of accessing the luggage from the 2nd row, i don't see any practical usage of Marina. As you can not stack the luggage one over the other, that can slip into the passenger in the second row.

In my experience, Logan airport taxis are capable of carrying more luggage than Marina.

Instead , I always expecting the change in the metal body, dashboard & interior while retaining the chassis and call it a new car. Like Santro Zing & Palio style.

the thing is, the rear overhang looks simply too short for a indigo style rear suspension. If we were looking at a mini marina, they would have used an indigo rear end , which has a different rear suspension set up ( anti roll bars etc), and would have some more overhang, but would not have been as efficient in terms of packaging

re: Spied: Tata Indica E-V2 XL- Update: video & more pics on P7

One picture showing the left side of Marron indica , clearly shows the rear door and window section from INDIGO-XL, but the rear end cannot drop down like a hatch. It looks like a INDIGO-CS-XL in that picture.

But i am confused when i look at the white indica in pictures below.
Look how far is the door handle which can be seen behind the cloth.
Hence it cannot be INDIGO-CS-XL

re: Spied: Tata Indica E-V2 XL- Update: video & more pics on P7

It looks like a Indica XL notchback. In the most recent pics, if you blow them up you can see the Prius like rear profile outline. In the second pic there is clearly an empty space near the rear screen (on the cover) but a little below is a metal line. So probably trying to increase bootspace and legroom within the confines of a sub 4 metre wheel base.

I would like to think of this as the "ute" version of the Indica!

to me also it looks like a small pickup, look at the rear wheel which is almost at the end of the chassy.
