No info on pricing but they have mentioned a launch date of July 19th.

3 variants are being launched:

Executive/ Corporate variant: loses out on Xenon, Sun-roof, fog lamps, lower quality leather seats, basic version of iDrive.

Sport edition: fully loaded, except sunroof. Has that dual-stitching and piping on the seats and interior trims. Designed for a more sporty look. No front parking sensors and rides on 18 inch rims. Has a reverse camera.

Luxury variant: everything that the Sport has, plus sunroof, front parking sensors and side cameras. Rides on 17 inch rims.

The iDrive variant on the Sport and Luxury has the Navigation option and BMW apps (Connected drive) enabled. I saw this on their display cars and am told these will make it to the production versions for sure.

Car gets launched around the 20th of this month.

Good to know that BMW is finally launching the car and that too with Corporate Edition(CE) from the beginning, otherwise there were speculation that they might not launch CE from the beginning as is cannibalizes sales of higher edition 3 series. to BMW.

Hopefully the pricing would be correct so as to keep the numbers coming. A CE Edition at less than 25 Lac Ex-Showroom is good buy.

Being reading & watching on YouTube, reviews of BMW F30 320d Sport Edition in red color with all black interior with red stitching, looks absolutely amazing. Hoping BMW launches it too in India, the dream car.

Update: The BMW F30 is scheduled to be launched on 27.07.2012, and the dealers are accepting bookings with a 3 Lac booking amount with a first lot allotment guarantee.

Just contacted the local BMW dealer to know about F30 launch and booking details. They said details on the variants and prices will be out by this month, but the car will only be available Aug 3rd week. To my email, their customer relationship manager replied the car will only be out by Sep or Oct. So not sure when the cars will actually be available to customers. If what manson said is correct then eagerly looking forward to booking a 3 series end of this month.

According to Bird Auto in Delhi the car will not be available before september :( May be he is just bluffing so that I will go ahead with the 520D. Any official confirmations of the exact date of launch ?

Well thats great news then. I hope they start the deliveries soon enough as well. looks very tempting.And here I was just about to book the 520d next week but now I'm surely gonna wait for the 3.

And then there is the dealer in Delhi with whom I am talking who would just say he doesn't know anything at all about the new arrival when its just 2 weeks away .

Hence, they are just toying around.

You mean the previous generation 520d(E60) ? I would highly doubt that.
OT: Do you think the discount on the 520d will be raised after the launch or vice versa ?

No I mean the current gen 520d (F10)

Discounts on the 520d usually range from 3 to 4 lacs. Check with your dealer, as lot of it depends on their targets vs inventory levels.

i am being offered a discount of Rs. 1.20-1.50 lacs discount by both the dealers in Delhi. They have got some upgraded model with the Eco drive mode.
