FCA/Jeep time and again disappointing us with Jeep Renegade or a sub 4 meter SUV launch. They are losing out many existing fiat loyalists who own lineas and puntos. What happened to those exhaustive testing done in Indian roads with Renegade? Never able to understand their mindset. For sure Jimnys and Sonets will kill Renegade sales if launched now. Only saving grace in it if launched could be the 1.6 diesel mill.

FCA has learnt nothing with FIAT chapter in India nor they will. Renegade was supposed to be launched before the compass but they did the reverse. Even today we have variants of just 1 model across so called FIAT/JEEP showrooms and compass with age has got expensive to own.

Rightly said, KIA has pulled a ace from selots and now sonet will be another success, Market has understood that to be ahead one need's to update the product lineup but for FCA its one model for a decade

The above looks like a good photoshop rendering of the xc40, the jeep model will arrive to late and it'll be overpriced, crude and look nothing like this. Fiat 2.0 or 3.0 is being played out now, VW will manage to bring out better SUVs going forward. Clickbait apart, Jeep really has no sense of market requirements, I'm sure Hyundai, Kia and VW will have better options before jeep hits the market.

Jeep's compact SUV to be built on French underpinnings and to slot below Renegade .

Coming in July 2022.

While the Renegade rides on the Small Wide 4x4 platform developed by the defunct Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA), its kid brother will use underpinnings engineered by the former PSA Peugeot Citroën. Specifically, the unnamed Jeep model will be built on the Compact Modular Platform (CMP) and use engines from PSA.

The baby Jeep is also planned to do away with the combustion engine and offer a pure EV derivative.

The so-called "mini Jeep", a subcompact SUV under the Renegade, will even have the CMP modular platform.

As it was not designed to be a 4 × 4 traction base, CMP must use an electric motor on the rear axle to allow the Jeep model to be a “Trail Rated”.

With the 4Xe, the new small of the American brand will also be made in India and possibly in Brazil.

New Entry-Level Jeep Coming In 2022, EV Variant To Arrive A Year Later

- A new entry-level crossover is slated to go into production in November of 2022.

- The model is codenamed Project 516 and will slot beneath the Renegade.

- It will be built in Tychy, Poland and be based on the CMP platform that underpins an assortment of models from Citroën, DS, Peugeot and Opel / Vauxhall

-The crossover will initially be launched with petrol engines, but an electric variant is slated to go into production in February of 2023. It will reportedly be followed by a mild-hybrid variant 11 months later.

- The mild-hybrid variant will be front-wheel drive and have an electric motor sandwiched between the engine and transmission

-The entry-level Jeep will be joined by a Fiat crossover – codenamed Project 364 – in April 2023.

-Alfa Romeo’s entry-level crossover – which could be called the Brennero – hasn’t been approved for production yet.
