From all the descriptions, pictures and comments, sure looks a like a winner. As an previous owner of the SX4, slightly disappointed with the petrol engine on offer. They could have provided the 1.6 as an option at least for those interested in higher performance. Also, considering this car is lighter than the outgoing SX4, and maybe with some additional work on the 1.6 am sure they could have ensured better FE figures.

So I am NOT the only one who thinks the interiors are just average! The HU reminds me of the one shod in Manza sometime back! Looks way too aftermarket and below par the segment in terms of looks.

The wood touch looks nice; so does space. Otherwise, I still feel the City's interior looks a bit better with those touchscreen. The FE is astonishing and am confused how did they achieve. Looks like the weight has been compromised to achieve it in-spite of 16 inch wheels. Will wait for team bhp reviews.

As some others too have mentioned the weight of the car looks too less for a car of this size. I hope there has been no compromises in the quality of the panels and safety in general. If someone who has seen the car in flesh can comment on these aspects it would be really helpful especially since now it is officially confirmed that the maximum Airbag content is just the dual front (i was hoping that the Z+ variant will have an additional safety pack)

re: Team-BHP SCOOP: Maruti Ciaz / YL1. Scoop Pics on Page 99

Main weight reduction will be because the engine is light since its an all aluminium construction. Moreover fuel tank is supposedly not metal which again shaves some weight. Structurally I don't think its compromised since this car might be exported and moreover crash tests will be required in sometime after the ARAI makes it mandatory.

Its ironic that people complained about bad FE delivered by the SX4 and now if that problem is addressed, the complaint is about power. Which 1.6l petrol sedan gave phenomenal FE? I think that the FE was standard for the size and power delivered by the SX4. Guess their tagline for the Ciaz will be it's FE.

Not surprised by the FE since we got a new dzire last week and in its first drive on the highway, the avg FE on the MID was 21kmpl. Even if its optimistic and showed 2kmpl more, the FE is really good for a new car driven not so sedately. Hence the Ciaz can deliver at least 15 if not more.

re: Team-BHP SCOOP: Maruti Ciaz / YL1. Scoop Pics on Page 99

I think the FE figures are a little boasted. Because a 1.2L Petrol engine in Swift is with ARAI figures of around 18KMPL. How come this 1.4L engine deliver 20KMPL in a bigger car? Same is the case for Diesel model.

Hope they won't - at a later stage - be asked to pay a penalty to the customers for the boasted FE figures like in the case of Hyundai USA

The car is a looker. Clean understated and well proportioned. Looks better than the Honda City especially the front and side profile. The rear is a photocopy almost.

Bookings are now open. Got a call from the dealer today. Had test driven Ertiga a month back and he called me to know my decision and give me this update.

I don't think we will get anywhere close to 26kmpl in real world conditions but i'm starting to wonder if ARAI is paid a bribe to show over-inflated fuel efficiency figures! Or maybe their testing parameters need a complete overhaul.
This thought came to my mind when recently the Censor Board Chief was arrested for taking a bribe to clear films.

Any news on the Green version? CNG was offered in SX4, it is offered in Ertiga with same engine.

Also the AT on petrol, somewhere it was written 5 speed on another website it was 4 speed?

I don't think that's the case. City I-DTEC ARAI figure is 26kmpl and I have gotten 24kmpl on highway with AC. Without AC and sedate driving I could have achieved more than 26kmpl so don't think ARAI is taking bribes for giving such figures. In City driving even if it gives 16-17kmpl that's enough.

Is it me or it gives a very SX4ish feeling from the front. Whenever I look at it the feeling is like it's a bigger version of SX4.

There isn't any image of the Grey Ciaz in the media drives, but the pics from Gaadiwaadi showed the Grey color. A lot of reports also don't specify grey as an option. Any confirmations/Images? (except the ones already shared on this thread)
