VW Vento TSI Launched at Rs.9.99 lakhs

Did a quick PDI yesterday of my black vento tsi at VW mount road.

How does one check if the odometer is connected or disconnected?

For people expecting changes in the 2014 models, sorry there are none whatsoever!

One glitch is the model in the form20 is still listed as 1.6 mpi AT
The cubic capacity is mentioned correctly though ! Asked the SA about it he says it's yet to be updated by the RTO !

Will there be any major issues ?

Registration today and taking delivery tomorrow , will update .

The model should be listed correctly as 1.2 TSI Highline in the RC book. When teambhpian stumpz took delivery of his Vento TSI, it was not updated in the RTO database, hence the dealer delivered with the temp registration and once the info was updated in the RTO database, the dealer contacted him and the registration was done. This was one point I added to my pre-delivery checklist (Ensuring the model was captured correctly in all documents).

I am not sure if there is a problem with the RC book having it listed as MPI AT, but I don't think that is the correct thing to do. I think you should recheck with the dealer and find out when the updation of RTO database will happen ( I read somewhere that it is done once a month)

I am paying 15% tax since ex-showroom chennai was 10.17lacs. I did ask about the 9.99lacs ads , but was told that it was the price for Delhi only .

This is a modern car with electronic everything. Aint no such thing as an 'odometer disconnect' wire. The odo is in the cluster electronics and paired to the ECU. As per VW you can change the Odo readings via the central server based SKU authentication, and it can be done only twice per cluster/per car.

HELLO !!
Finally brought the car home .
Wanted to get home before the peak traffic in chennai; but somehow managed to get stuck in it .
After driving an i10 automatic for 5years now there is definitely a marked difference in a lot of aspects.
Anyway will stitch the ownership report soon and put it up soon.
THANKS to all the current polo tsi and vento tsi owners on TBHP ! You guys were a big factor in me too getting one !

Vento tsi is the perfect all-rounder. fun to drive and frugal!!
You can also go crazy modding the car.
RCD510, GTI steering with paddles, Maxidot.. etc etc
Its amazing how mod friendly these cars are.
Hope you have a great ownership experience.

yes they sorted out the rc book issue; anyways yet to receive it ; will get it only after a month or so..
they did get it wrong in the insurance papers; pointed it out and they have said they'll correct it and send a new one.

oh yes it really is nice to drive; it definitely is much more frugal&fun than my i10.
i haven't started pushing her too much yet though....
yes i am aware of the mods too ... will plan them soon...

As per the report in Autocar Polo facelift is coming in May.

Not sure if Vento facelift will also be launched at the same time

I had booked by vento tsi in nov asking for a 2014 VIN. I was originally promised a Feb delivery, so I'm assuming a worst case date of 28-Feb. Anybody with a different story especially in Chennai? say booked later but got it already or vehicle not delivered within the promised time of delivery on the booking receipt?

I have taken delivery in the 3rd week of january.

I had to change my colour option from shadow blue to deep black. I had initially asked for deep black and changed it to shadow blue since they said it might be delayed.

I then got a call early jan saying deep black was coming in the first batch and that shadow blue might be delayed. So I opted for my original choice.
