Does that mean mitsu is selling a modified and illegal car from factory?
i think its time you got this clarified by mitsu pal! not that you'l get into any trouble but i sure think you should know why the specs of the car don't match the ones printed on the RC book.

Infractions: 0/1 (10)

I know of people whose RC books read 993cc for the Engine Capacity of a Kinetic Honda and 0 bhp too. RTO guys make a lot of errors on RC books, I have seen atleast 5 cases of wrong figures.

What about after market turbo, NOS, bigger pistons etc etc? Now I think these are illegal too. Once I got caught for my free flow. When I told the cop that it's a race car and it's modified for rallies (flashed my MAI license ) he told me to get it changed and endorsed in my RC book by RTO and it'll only cost some 1000 bucks through agents.

Thank God I'm not so rich! Never could AFFORD to have any 'mods' done on my cars; not that any of the DC designs ever tempted me. And looking at the 'mods' convinced me that 'grotesque' would be the only outcome, apart from a 'virgin' from the showroom being mercilessly 'violated'. The only 'mod' that ever tempted me is a sunroof, but the good lord has kept me away evn from that.

I believe that your dealer goofed up. He fills up the form for the RC book.
He must have put in the values foe Spirit/ Select

Tough time correcting it.... and when you go for resale somebodyy might think that it is a select/spirit with a bodykit, Unless you weigh that and show it to him

RC book also says that changing unladen weight (alloy wheels ?) should be notified.

Well, some mods will make you feel that RTO should impound that vehicle!

It is in our injun nature to make complicated rules, and to use them to the whim/fancy/advantage of the enforcer. Some are pretty ridiculous too.

RTO/MVI/Police will bother you only if either the mod is outrageous, or YOU BEHAVE outrageous.

Why not?

I see nothing wrong with what RTO is doing.

Free flow means the guy has taken the catalytic convertor out.

Thant's not only anti-environment but also against the rule of the land.

Why do people think that they have a previledge to harm the environment just because they have some odd passion or a lot of money?

Sure odd for most of the general population.

Why complain? You take the pains and spend the money to do the mods. Just spend a little bit more to get it endorsed by RTO. Simple onlee!!

Yes it is. Very very large percentage of cars are run stock by the buyers. Also a lot of rules are in place for a valid reason prime among them being the one of pollution control.

Maybe not a popular opinion to be expressed in an auto enthusiast forum like this one but it is a very valid one.

My zen has steel wheel with tubed tyres. If I change to alloy wheel with tubeless tyres, should I get authorization from RTO?

Not just odd, but highly irresponsible, IF you think you have the prerogative to remove catalytic converters!
