yes 'Testing' is not the correct word, maybe it is one of the first vehicles which was delivered to the dealer over here.

The new 4 cylinder diesel is a supposed to be a scorcher according to some international reviews.
Ford will have to bring in its bigger diesel if it wants to stay in the power race.

PS: did you guys notice they are building the new Verna and the Xing in the same assembly line.

Uncovered pictures doesn't appeal me as partially covered one's. Side view of the car is great.

Looks spacious.

Monkey says that between the Fiesta and Verna..there is no winner on the looks front. But the Verna looks decidedly more spacious, has better interiors and more power.

Time for Ford to do what they do best...chop prices!

I saw that at the Toyota plant, too. They were assemling the Qualis and Corolla on the same line - 1 Corolla after every 3 Qualises. This quite some time back - Qualis was still in production.

their are 2 assembly halls . all are built on the same assembly line irrespective of platform and randomly...

the verna felt much better than the fiesta ..could be because it was fresh of the assembly line or the roads in the factory were just very good .... cause of that i cant say much about the suspension .cant say about the power as i did not go above 20 km/h due to speed restrictions at the factory . personally i do not like the interiors ....

So what we have here is a 70bhp ford vs a 110bhp verna.
Sales and support spares part prices : hyundai wins
Performance : Hyundai wins
FE : Maybe ford wins, but in a diesel a difference of 2-3kmpl wont make much of a difference.

So if hyundai prices the verna at Ford prices, ford will have to do a fusion on the fiesta(read 50K discount).

All in all good for the consumer. Its high time more people crashed into tata mid size diesel party, though its a pity that nobody can sell a Common rail midsize diesel below 5L, except the Tatas

truly dissapointed with the front look of the car, looks good from behind, side... the headlights just kill it... way too old fashioned and not aggressive like the new civic... :( I guess il have to go for the FIesta 1.6 instead of verna or swift sport 1.6 when it comes out

Any news on the pricing? That will be the deciding factor. If they can price it around Fiesta/Aveo 1.4 variants, it will be a big success.

I just saw the pics of Verna in 3 door hatch. It really looks stunning. Hope they bring this too.

Dealer at Cochin assured me it'll hit the market in a couple of weeks. He's uncertain about the prices, but says there's a 1.6 version with ABS, etc, etc at 7.2 L. And Accent/VIVA crdi prices will come down further...

I honestly dont see any performing assets for the Verna - the package, timing or pricing. I would expect it to probably bump around with the Aveo for sales, with negligible impact on the Fiesta. This, unless there's an attractive pricing - which Hyundai will be ill advised to do for reasons of branding and market perception.
