Beige indeed makes the Aspire seem more spacious but is it just me or anyone too feels that the quality of the beige shade in Aspire could've been better.
I mean it just lacks that finesse which say the Hyundai, Honda and Tata's beige offers.

It's just the wrong shade of beige for me too, right between the light ones Tata/VW offer and the brownish beige Hyundai offers (no fan of this shade either but it's dull enough to stay out of the way).

Ford's beige is, I don't have the correct word, too bright and in your face. The hard plastics and textures make it worse.

do we know when the Facelift Figo would be launched?

A few more pictures of the facelifted Aspire:

Note the Fly audio system (not sync 3) in the below picture. Gives away the fact that the Automatic will still be available only with the Titanium (not the plus) trim.

This trade off appears more to keep the prices competitive against Amaze. Atleast prefacelift model had an optional safety pack that included 6 air bags in the titanium variant for additional cost. Hope it is retained to serve safety aspects of customers opting for Automatic variant.

It does have the TCS button under the handbrake lever - like the Freestyle.

Looks like the tyres have got a upgrade as well to the current Aspire Sports spec and make. That will be a good and positive change both in tyre size and make unless that is a Sports version in the picture.

Wonder if it has undergone a suspension tweak as well.

I don't think the apparent lack of a top end automatic is the biggest reason for worry.

A diesel AT variant could have been the real game changer, potentially putting some dent on the sales of Amaze and Dzire. The numbers tell us the demand for diesels hasn't diminished one bit despite its uncertain future. Moreover, the tried and tested TDCI engine is better than Honda's i-DTEC. A TC gearbox on the diesel motor coupled with aggressive pricing really could have boosted this segment and provide the shot in the arm that Ford needs. Aspire facelift represented a huge opportunity for Ford to increase their foothold. By the looks of it, that doesn't seem to be the case.

All Ford can do now is undercut its rivals just like they did with Freestyle and hope it is enough to sway customers their way.

This is disappointing to say the least, why equip push button start in the Titanium trim and not the Sync 3?
Atleast in the Automatic variant, Ford should've provided the Sync 3 in the Titanium variant even if it meant cutting down features like keyless entry with Push Start button. The former is more important in day to day life.

Infact, for Automatics, there should be a different way of equipping vehicles. We all know most of the buyers going for an Automatic variant will be driving the vehicle themselves hence give them the features that's useful to in day to day life!

Instead of giving in fancy features, companies should focus on improved safety and practical features for Auto variants.

I presume it will come with 1.5 Dragon engine, so the cost will be higher, cutting the fancy features will further push customers to amaze or DZire plus more negative reviews for cutting such features in automatic where one pays more. In general people who know the difference between fly audio and sync are maybe just ten percent but most people look if there is a touch screen of good size and does it function as described. Because I wouldn't want to buy a compact sedan for more than 10 lakh because mind will begin to compare it with c segment sedan indeed by splurging few more lakhs.

If the automatic variant comes with the 1.5 Dragon engine, it will still be a good deal even if it misses out on a few fancy features and is slightly more expensive than the Amaze or Dzire, because it will be the most powerful automatic in its segment (all others have 1.2L engines even on their automatics). The 1.5 Dragon seems to have good tractability on the EcoSport, so it should feel a lot peppier on the lighter Aspire. Also, at around 10.5 lakh on road, it will be almost 1.5 lakh cheaper than the Yaris J CVT and the Ciaz Delta AT, which are the cheapest automatics one can buy from the C2 segment.

Anyway, this entire discussion will be moot if Ford chooses to have the 1.2 Dragon for the automatic as well. lol:

Spy images of the Ford Aspire facelift have already leaked online. But, we can now report that the car is likely to be launched on October 4, 2018.

Further, unconfirmed reports suggest that the Aspire facelift will be slightly heavier thanks to the use of Boron Steel in its construction. It is the same material that is used in the EcoSport. As a result, 0-100 km/h acceleration time of the diesel variant is expected to go up from 9.72 seconds to 11 seconds.

The Aspire facelift is expected to be offered with two petrol and one Diesel engines. However, the 6-speed automatic gearbox will only be available with the 1.5-litre, 3-cylinder Dragon Series engine and in Titanium trim, while the 1.2-litre engine from the Freestyle is excepted to be offered on the MT Petrol variants. Rumours suggest that the 6-speed automatic could get SelectShift for manual shifts. Ford might also offer a Sports variant of the Aspire, while the rumoured CNG variant will be launched sometime next year and will be aimed at cab operators.

While there is no word yet on the pricing, dealer sources have told us that the on-road price of the top-spec Aspire could be around Rs. 10.50 lakh.

That is good news on the weight and the 1.5 litre engine being offered on the automatic.

I had noticed that the made in Brazil Ka+ is close to 1300 kgs whereas the Aspire here is just around 1000 kgs, although the Ka+ is a full sized sedan.
The increase in weight will get rid of the lightness during high speeds, however Ford's explanation on Boron steel says the idea is to keep the weight the same and at the same time, increase the strength of the body.(https://www.india.ford.com/boron-steel/)

If there is a Sports version coming out with this body, hopefully with the 1.5 petrol engine ,it will be just right.

In all, good upgrades for the enthusiasts.

agree: Just like the Diesel CVT was the Amaze's trump card, the 1.5 Petrol automatic and better build quality could be the Aspire's trump card in this segment. If priced sensibly by Ford, this could do well just like the Freestyle.

I have a feeling it would continue to be offered with the 1.2 Dragon with manual transmission, but will all black interiors and different alloys; plus subtle changes to the bumpers. But let's hope for the best. :thumbs up
