Re: Rumour: Vitara Brezza facelift to get sunroof & side airbags

New rumor has the Brezza will have 2 petrol engine options and in an AT variant too.

Launch expected this festive season.

Diesel (1.5L) could phase in the later part of 2020.

- The 1.2-litre Dual Jet engine makes 90PS and 113Nm in the Baleno.

-Maruti might also offer an automatic transmission with the petrol variants.

-Turbocharged 1.0-litre BoosterJet from the Baleno might also be offered.

Quote:
The 1.2-litre Dual Jet motor is one of the most frugal petrol engines out there, thanks to the Smart Hybrid system. This engine returns a claimed efficiency figure of 23.87kmpl in the Baleno. This efficiency figure, in comparison with the 1.3-litre diesel’s 24 kmpl, seems like an acceptable tradeoff. The 1.0-litre BoosterJet, meanwhile, might be offered as a more powerful variant

Re: Rumour: Vitara Brezza facelift to get sunroof & side airbags

Brilliant news that MSIL is finally not compromising in safety features and variants. However, what will be the fate of their more expensive offerings the Ciaz and S Cross both of which will miss these features?

Nexa SAs will soon have to deal with people asking why aren't there 4 airbags in S Cross.

Cheers!

Re: Rumour: Vitara Brezza facelift to get sunroof & side airbags

Maruti has got only 3 Petrol engines to power their mid size segment. If 1 engine of 1.5 litre is left out because of tax benifits, then it's only 2 engines. We have been hearing mix and match between these 2 engines for a long time. They should have plonked 1 litre booster jet engine, at least 1 year back. The delay is costing Maruti, one of their best selling Car.

It's anybody's guess, that S Cross, will get the 1.5 litre Petrol engine, subject to manufacturing constraints within Maruti plant.

Hopefully it will sport Baleno's cvt and not the AMTs.

This news is surprising. It was not spied testing anywhere so far. How is it possible? The facelift is supposed to come with updated exteriors and interiors.

Re: Rumour: Vitara Brezza facelift to get sunroof & side airbags

Maruti Vitara Brezza petrol to be launched in August

The Maruti Vitara Brezza petrol will likely make use of the K15B 1.5-litre engine and will be available with 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic transmission choices (likely to be introduced at a later stage).

Initially, the company was contemplating offering the K10C 1.0-litre BoosterJet petrol engine. However, it wasn't feasible because of the lower fuel economy and the higher costs involved.

What kind of jokers are these guys? Still coming up with that stupid 4 speed Automatic transmission
I'm really pissed off with this AMT and archaic automatic transmission nonsense. You have three capable compact SUV's let down by AMT and now this 4 speed one. I have to spend 50% more money just to get a better transmission, while Brezza, Nexon & XUV 300 are all that's I need. Can anyone wake these idiots and let them know which year is it!!

The article in indianautosblog has mentioned source as zigwheels article.
As per Zigwheels it is 1.2 DuelJet engine.
It is quite confusing.

Was mentioned by ACI recently that Maruti might launch it around Auto Expo time. Just before BS6 kicks in - probably in the last days of Brezza Diesel.

Mr. Bhargava mentioned November. Hope I recall this right! It will be made available once the fuel is out. No point in putting the cart before the horse.

Mr. Bhargava had mentioned about the petrol variant arriving this FY. Media (ACI) says it as Feb-2020.

I doubt whether there will be any face-lift before that.

Won't Auto-Expo / Feb2020 be horribly late to launch a petrol variant? It will give hardly a month of overlap with the 1.3 MJD. The diesel Brezza will have gone extinct in showrooms by April. How will sufficient showroom vehicles, TD cars and media reviews be out by the time of hard cutover in April!

With that in mind I think discounts will start by October 2019 for DDiS Brezza & manufacturing will start getting reduced. Sales will already be far lower - they already are - with customers anticipating discontinuation of the 1.3 MJD.

For proper switchover without mess & sales hit, MSIL must launch the Petrol Brezza by November'19 indeed.

Given MSIL's history of managing waiting periods - if they launch it in February, there will be a surge in bookings & weird duration where the actual shipment of Brezza out to the streets is very low. Then of course there will be a quarter of people reporting issues and niggles that are understandable for a new engine-car facelift combination.
