About 35 to 50 k higher than the standard 110 ps models. While the difference is worth but it also pushes xuv300 very close to the next segment. Also being the heaviest (and safest), the performance would be relatively closer to lighter and less powerful cars.

Outright 0-100 acceleration of even the older XUV300 wasn’t the greatest. But it absolutely killed in real world performance - overtaking and roll on acceleration. This is should become even better.

Mahindra has been able to perfect this to a great level. Clean lines, not so much flared, yet pleasing. The black is a stunner.
Is this the Indian version of the most powerful Polo GTI? Not in terms of specs but options.

In many ways this is a downgrade from the initial batch of W8(O) XUV 300. Leaving aside the new engine, the newer W8(O) are missing the following when compared to the initial batch:

- 7 Airbags,
- 3 pointed seat belts for all passengers,
- 17 inch Wheels.

The interior still feels dated and they could've used this opportunity to at least give a facelift and added wireless charging

Definitely looks a little upmarket than the outgoing model. Getting rid of the asymmetrical logo on the bonnet and the steering has helped. Also black interiors seem to do their part well.

Now since Mahindra have done away with the hugely popular (fake) bonnet scoop on the Scorpio, this seems to be the ideal candidate to have one. A lot of potential male buyers on a dilemma will fall for the bonnet scoop for the perceived 'macho' look it delivers. And none of its competitors can copy that design, Nexon has a sloping bonnet, Venue looks too cute to play the part and Brezza is too professional.

130 PS engine, aggressive design language, raised bonnet with a bonnet scoop! It doesn't get more macho on a budget than this.

Mahindra is no longer using the Cheetah concept for marketing XUV 700, they can associate the Cheetah with the XUV 300. With a 130 PS engine, it is supposed to be the fastest in its class, and a Cheetah association will just be the needed touch to carry the message to the masses.

And since cheetahs have just been re introduced into India, the public memory is still fresh and public sentiments are favourable to Cheetah. A commercial fraturing a cheetah on its bonnet with a tagline "The Cheetah is back........ in business" might help the brand very well!

Err... The Scorpio did have a functional bonnet scoop. Though the new Scorpio Classic gets a fake one as it got the new engine.

Agree with the XUV300 bonnet part. One of the few modern affordable bonnets that can carry a bonnet scoop or even a bonnet emblem with grace. (if you ignore the Bolero twins)

This seems to be an entirely new engine - with direct injection and a new turbocharger.
